With Boston it seems like it's a guaranteed game 7. They have to win that one. The Leafs have all the pieces this year - they're long past due to finally break out in a playoffs.

Even keel...I am dead inside after 6 playoff 1st round losses in a row.
If they win a series finally, that 2nd round round loss could actually do some damage lol.

On one hand, I feel there is no logical reason for them not to win the TBL series. On the other hand, logic and the Leafs aren't the best of friends.

More excited than usual though, because this team is so good and in theory it's the best Leaf team I've ever seen.

Been a fan of this team since '74 can't remember a better playoff run before or since 93. I found a way to watch that whole run or most of it by shirking my duties as a full time soldier. Only time I did it in 20yrs of service and I didn't have a pang of guilt lol.
We lost to Gretzky and the All Blacks lost the world cup final not long after in a similar and suspect fashion. Bad time for my favorite sports.
This year I'm on the fence. Cautious but a little excited. This is definitely the best team with a shot, since 93 imo. They should beat Tampa. But will they.
I reckon they seemed on cruise control the last month. The won games they shouldn't have. Pretty sure they went 7-2-1 in their last 10. I hope they can get back to the defensive play they had mid season. Win every game by the skin of their teeth. I don't care how they do it. I just hope they do. If they have the Bruins 2nd round so be it. Got to find a way.
I will be on the edge of my seat all the way. GLG

93 was ao unexpected. Boreshvsky goal against Detroit. Gilmour Game 1. Wendell with the hatrick in Game 7 against St Louis.
Magic.
94 was sickening losing to the Canucks.
Losing to Buffalo was brutal.
Carolina felt like a win considering everyone was injured.
Sigh!
Hard to say really. I recognize that this is likely the best Leaf's team that has been put togeather since Quinn was running the team. That said the inability for the core group to finish off playoff opponents, even against inferior teams is keeping my excitement level at even keel. Tampa is not an inferior team.
I am really hoping that O'Reilly is able to provide the leadership this team needs to finally finish an opponent off. He did play a huge roll in St. Louis winning the cup not too long ago so there is hope he might be able to just that. If they could just get that damn monkey off their back and win a round they have a team that could win it all.

Still remembered CuJo in that series and how the Leafs needed to have goalie pads on the ice in order to get used to lifting their shots will be a forever memory.
