Got my first round in yesterday.
I usually like to hit the range a few times before my first time out but this came up out of the blue and couldn't say no.
Safe to say, my struggle was real.
Hacked my way around to an 84! :thumbd:
:thumbu: Good first round of the year ACC, not bad at all. I also got my first round in with my wife. We are both going through some aches and pains as we are renovating our house, so both of us were hurting a bit. I said I would be happy to break 100 the way I felt, and squeezed out a 92. I'll take it. The wife shot a 101. We're usually better.

I often joke, I taught my wife to golf about 20 years ago, and she's gotten pretty decent, capable of beating me on any given day. I SHOULD have taught her how to vacuum instead!

Yeah, must admit I'm pretty sore today. Yard work and pickle ball on Saturday and golf Sunday.
Sucks getting old.

My wife has no interest in learning, not sure if that's good or bad.

Grind? Interesting word to use, I don't think of it as a grind at all, this is what I wait all year for!

I'm gonna watch the Boston game tonight, very interested to see how that one plays out.

I assume you mean nobody in the US would watch (Canada is part of America, just as the US is). But yeah while saying nobody isn't quite accurate as of course some people would still watch, it would also likely be a ratings disaster.

Yeah I don't care either, I'd love an all Canadian match-up no matter who the teams were. I mean a part of me would be jealous if a different Canadian team won but still, would be nice to see a Canadian team win all the same.
It’s a fun grind, kinda like squat day.

I’m just going off pure talent. I’d still take the Leafs talent over the Bruins.

Boston play great as a team, their system etc but like I said I think the Leafs are the better team talent wise
Maybe we have more talent than Boston, maybe not. Either way, talent's just one part of the equation though.

Excited as always
Can't wait to beat the crap out of Tampa
Damn straight!

Excited but a bit anxious. I'm more optimistic and confident this year and think we finally do the thing, but will not be confident if it goes to Game 7.

Heading to Game 1 and 2 this week and already have plans lined up for Saturday - it's going to be a fun week! Already having issues concentrating at work and have a f*** ton to do, not good lol.
I feel you. Fortunately I'm not swamped at the moment so the fact that I've done very little work today is not an issue. Good luck! :)

It's the most confident I've been for a post season series for the team in the cap era based on how things look on paper. The Bolts look a shell of themselves too - like the Kings and Hawks after their last cups.

Biggest concern is goaltending - for both sides. Will the Leafs younger guys be ready and will Vasy find a way to randomly switch things on at the worst possible time ect

More confident than against Montreal???

Haha fair question. I'm pretty confident myself, but nowhere near as confident as I was against Montreal.
I might be, I'm not sure yet. I keep wondering just how much hunger is left in that Tampa locker room. Montreal is obviously nowhere near as talented but they were a team who was gonna run through a wall to beat us. No way Tampa has that same motivation at this stage of their core's careers.

Argg...dont remind me. I told/screamed to everyone I knew that without a doubt, guaranteed, its a done deal, I would bet the house on it that the Leafs were gonna win that series and I never do that because I know that anything can happen in the playoffs but in that series I was as sure as sure can get, I just could not see any scenario where they wouldn't. d'oh!

i feel better this year than other years.
I think this is the best team on paper in a while…..I don’t see a problem with tampa and hopefully the panthers can stretch Boston out a bit.

feeling good!

It's probably good. Trying to teach mine didn't go all that well. :eek3:

full disclosure: I'm not the most patient teacher

I used to do a lot of sports betting and I am well aware that no result is ever guaranteed and for that reason, I never make predictions. I may try to assign probabilities for various outcomes but predictions, nope.

That was the one time I can remember breaking my own rule in the last few decades, I predicted that the Leafs would cruise through not just Montreal, but the second round as well.

Lesson learned, hopefully. So when I say Leafs in 5, that's not really a prediction, it's just my way of saying that I love our chances in this one. And saying it'll be over in 5 is the Leaf homer in me that refuses to die. :)

Takes enough patience just to play golf IMO. Teaching your wife golf though, man that takes the whole patience thing to an entirely new level. :)

Damn excited. Tired of reading crap about Dubas getting fired, what do we do about player X or how Tavares is really a bad player. That all grist for the mill in the off season, not the week before playoffs. Tampa looks ripe for the picking unless Vasi and Hedman get their games back fast. Let the games begin!

I look at this 8 man rotation on the blueline, and while there might be a few placements or pairing possibilities I'm not fussy about, but most of them are real NHL pairings that could play on any NHL team, any! So feeling good

I look at the Leafs goaltending and I think I ain't afraid of no ghosts! An interesting little factoid I learned today, Ilya "Chuckles" Samsonov won a KHL Gurgerin Cup, so I'm not worried about his experience, and Joe Woll has really solid foundations and seems like a "cool as a cucumber kind of guy." I dont think either of them will get rattled So yeah! again, feeling good.

The forwards, do you really have to ask? Mmm hm feeling pretty good.
