-Teams looking at Nashville’s Tolvanen and Jets D prospect Niku.

-Leafs looking at rentals like Ferland(physical forwards)...Sandin, Liljegren and next year’s first not available

-Senators will let teams know in a week who’s available out of Stone, Duchene and Dzingel

-Ducks may be firing Randy Carlyle in no time

Ya i can see alot of teams wanting Niku forsure

Carlyle needed to be fired like 3 months ago

Why the *** would Carolina do that?

Funny stuff.

Hasn't Ferland had something like 3 or 4 goals in the last few months? I think Brown and a 2nd would be a fair deal, especially if his start was a mirage. Canes fans are talking like he is a star.

I do like his size though.

Wouldn't be surprised if Anaheim gets forced into tethering a big piece (top prospect or pick) to unloading the Perry contract

Anaheim has always been very open about being a budget conscious team and their slide is about to get ugly with firing coaches, Perry being a big salary with bald tires, kesler fighting for worst contract in the league, and getzlaf fully into the back 9 of his career

Still have an unbelievable D corps and pipeline but they are not bringing in the talent at forward to replace the cup contenders they once were just 3 years ago

But that Gibson kid is pretty noice

Trying to figure out how Carlyle has kept his job this long. Anaheim is the worst team in the league by a wide margin.

I think if a 2nd and a bottom 6 player is the best offer for Ferland you just let him ride the year out and tell the fans you kept him for a shot at the playoffs.

then why not keep Skinner? traded him for less than Ferland? How does that make sense?

LMAO how could any team possibly beat a 2nd and a 25 year old 3rd liner.

edit: excuse me. 4th liner.

Maybe someone will offer a little more, but what are you expecting for him? He's a good player, but he's not going to get a return anything like what the Leafs gave up for Muzzin, as an example.

I am genuinely curious what you think another team (Toronto or anyone else) would give up for him.

Who are the physical forward rentals; Ferland, Simmonds, Brendan Lemeiux (RFA), Sam Bennett (RFA), Brett Ritchie, Michael Raffl?, Brandon Tanev

Since the 1st, Sandin, and Liljegren are off the table, obviously Simmonds and Ferland won’t be going to TOR. You can also take Sam Bennett off the list.

I could see TOR maybe targeting Raffl or Tanev. Since no good pieces would be moving, they’d be low cost targets who are UFA.
Pat Maroon and Colin Wilson are cheap targets more in the Leafs price range.

Something equivalent to Andreas Johnsson and a 2nd, for example. Possibly more.

Would like Ferland, but the Leafs wont pay the price to get it done.

And I cant see Babcock moving Hyman or Marleau out of the top 9 for anyone, so whats even the point.

Uh oh.

That's the type of package Leafs fans think could pull Pesce, to put into perspective.

If I have questions about Simmonds' health/decline, I'm paying a bit more to get Ferland instead. Some kind of package that has a conditional 2nd that becomes a 1st if Ferland gets re-signed. He's a buzzsaw.

Johnsson has as many points as Ferland this year. They're tied in goals too. One is a UFA, the other is an RFA rookie. Tell us why we're adding here?

OK then Leafs have nothing to offer so they don't get him. Problem solved.
A team with cap space will give up a conditional 1st and try to re-sign him.

I would not add a damn thing to get Ferland. That is a straight up trade, and we are giving up more potential and offence, just to get size.

The guys on leafs lunch were really doing Pesce injustice. Suggested a trade involving Kapanen and Zaitsev for Ferland and Pesce, with the leafs "probably adding"

I actually listened to that yesterday afternoon. I expected better from Gord Miller and Mike Johnson. No understanding about Carolina's needs and salary structure. You wonder sometimes how some of the views about certain players come about. There might be your answer.

It's not even straight up, RFA's don't get traded for UFA's that they're outsourcing. That goes for Wayne Simmonds too.

You massively undervalued a leafs player so that means we have nothing to offer? Your conclusion is accurate enough, but that's quite the roundabout ways of getting there.

Duchene may also be open to re signing in Ottawa this summer even if traded - per Chris Johnston
A man can dream, we trade all of Duchene, stone and Dzingel, they all including Karlsson re-sign under new ownership this summer. Rapid rebuild with tons of picks and prospects.

Us Sens fans deserve this after the BS we’ve been through in the last couple years. I’ll show my way out lol
