Pretty sure he thinks that me can’t change the first three shooters. Like ever.
Yup. Draisaitl is trash in the shoot out. His bread and butter is his one time shot, not shoot outs. He just lumbers in, no fakes and either tries to go between the legs or once in a blue moon does the slap shot. lol. Even I could stop them.

Yeah, okay.

Glad to see someone who doesn't understand usage and how being sheltered works.

Realtive to who? This trash group of D that can't ever hold any kind of lead ever. They could have been up 6-1 and they would have found a way to lose this game because they can't defend for shit, at least Desharnais doesn't do mind numbingly stupid things with the puck and makes people pay the price for standing right in front of the goalie (otherwise knowing as the Oilers D free parking spot).

Gimme 6 Desharnais' over this loser d corps any day.

The *only* stretch from the playoffs onwards last year to now that they've looked decent defensively was the 12 games that Desharnais was in (2.6 GAA versus a shit 3.44 and rising with him out). Didn't defend for shit in the playoffs either, could not hold even 1 lead against Colorado in 4 full games.

This time of the season is all about collecting points. Definitely need to work on their OT strategy because Draisaitl can't keep up with McDavid beyond the first 30-45 seconds.
Draisaitl has the stamina of a 17 year old basset hound. Lazy and slow. Time for him to get some rest.

Well ahead of Leon “the bomb” Draisaitl

Drai isn’t a finesse player like that. He’s a poor shootout choice

That slapper almost has a sense of “stop putting me in the shootout” vibe lol
It’s like they don’t care what happens once the shootout starts. Mcdavids speed is what burns most goalies and he uses none of It in his attempts. Leon shouldn’t be out there at all. Hyman is great in breakaways, McLeod has speed, why would you choose yams there?

Why 11-6 tonight? Is there no way we can get enough players dressed within cap? We send players down because kailer Yamanothing is back? WTF.
We had 12-6 before the game cause that’s all we could afford then Kostin got sick. We had to send down Holloway, Desharnais and Shore to activate Yamamoto.

Fantastic game. Rangers took this game over with much better, faster puck transition game and took advantage of lots of high quality ice given up by the Oilers. First game of the benchmark weekend competition reveals there is work to be done to compete with elite teams. Campbell kept the Oil in it but the Rangers elite #1 went into terminator mode.

Draisaitl the finishing winger is elite. But was challenged tonight in driving the second line from the centre position. 47% in the dot. Brutal shootout attempt. Not burying the guy, just too many minutes tonight. Next OT I would look at new lines McDavid/Nugent Hopkins and then roll out Draisaitl/Hyman. The stack is not working.

This game was ripped away from the Oilers by a team that skates better and moves it so quickly from a big, mobile defense corp. I can't be mad because if I look at this objectively I think the best team (tonight anyways) got the W.

There are essentially 5 defenseman on this roster that need to be sheltered, 3 of them in a significant manner (Barrie, Bouchard, Broberg). Holland has been GM for nearly 4 years and is yet to fix the f***ing defense on this team.

It's Woodcraft. Continues to put 29 & 25 out in OT with 97. Same s3 shooters in the shootout.
Does he ever make any tactical changes? Must spend all his energy dying his hair
Tactical change was Barrie and Ryan in shootout :/

yams had a decent game but he just isn’t the answer on this team (neither is JP)

Our RW depth isn’t great

Cause everyone likes yams.

Yams can get bent.

Epic game, guys. Rangers fan coming in peace. You guys have gotten the better of us as of late (the McDavid 1-on-4, the third period meltdown last game), but you guys have a hell of a team. Fun game.
LMFAO!! Go troll somewhere else, loser.

Edit: Why do posters from other teams feel the need to come troll our board when their team wins? I can guarantee this clown doesn't show his face if the Rangers lose.

Islands in the stream.
I don't get the shootout choices. That slow down before the shot doesn't work. I know McDavid scored on it before but it requires a perfect shot.

Also I know Kane has been cold but he should be shooting before Ryan and Yamamoto
Ryan actually had a good shootout attempt. He's surprisingly good on this kind of play and better hands than given credit for. Ryan does have 10G this season so he is an unlikely scorer on this club, only bottomsix guy that notches that many. The guy has hands. I've been watching him since his Golden Bears days.
