This was the game to get them in, and we still showed we could not get it done. Excluding JT that makes it what 0-10 in elimination games with our core? Sadly, despite the 2 comeback wins in TB I have not seen anything that convinces me that this year they can actually close out a series...until they actually do it.

I know Keefe of course has to defend his players, but still there's NO WAY that Holl should be on the ice for game 6. Gio and Holl have looked pretty bad for a good portion of this series so I don't know why you don't at least try and change things up and give Liljegren a chance.

Gio has been pretty bad this series too. His mobility is looking rough, he's spraying the puck around on the pitch and catches and little passes, getting outmuscled.

I thought he played well tonight actually..I’d like to see his advanced stats.

Thought he had some jump in his game.

He played fine actually, but I meant in the leadership role where it feels so forced to have him as the leader. He doesn't come across as very inspirational from a personality POV.

Tampa's goal scorers were Cirelli, Eyssimont, and Paul. That's a tough pill to swallow.
Yup, for sure. Weren't game 6 and 7 last year like that too? I know game 7 was for sure.

Our goal scorers in our wins have been:

Game 2, blowout, hardness rating of 0/5 : Marner (2), Tavares (3), Nylander, ZAR
Game 3, comeback 1, hardness rating 2/5 : Acciari, Matthews, O'Rielly, Rielly
Game 4, comeback 2, hardness rating 3/5 : Acciari, Matthews (2), Rielly, Kerfoot
Game 5, closeout 1, hardness rating 4/5 : Rielly, Matthews
Game 6, closeout 2, hardness rating 5/5 : ???

So that is
-4 goals from the bottom 6
-11 from the top 6
-3 from the D (all the same guy)

...and not just score goals or get points. It's all about WHEN they get them. We needed that goal from Marner tonight (on the breakaway), or we needed Matthews to create one rather than just toss the puck around nonsensically.

I know they scored goals to get to this point, but this is where their production dies, every time... series clinching games.

And to be honest, if they can't get it done, what's the point in them being here? 0-11 is series clinching games? Like, that sounds made up ffs.
Still think the Leafs will win, but yeah, there's no way they can stay with the status quo if they lose.

0-10 with this core, 0-11 including 2013, 1-13 since the 2002 eastern conference final.

This franchise is cursed.

This felt a lot like game 6 of 2019. Went up early from a Rielly goal, gave it back quickly and pretty much chased rest of the game.

Let’s not act like we are out, save that when it actually happens.
Still have faith in the boys. They didn’t get dominated and was not lifeless like all those elimination games of playoffs past.
They didn’t get the bounces today while TB got it plus Holl being Holl.

every competent team has at least 2 puck moving d-men who can score. we traded sandin so we can baby f***ing holl a pending ufa while playing an old man who is skating on one nut.

On top of that we aren't dressing Lily or Gus.

That's why it was so surreal when the Leafs got the 1st goal. Seems like they're always the ones chasing in elimination games.

But thankfully that didn't last long.
