Hockey Night in Canada just said Pierre McGuire has interviewed twice for the job. FML.

I think Meruelo is tapped out and the league is basically calling the shots. The alternative is terrifying.

Pierre loves Tocchet so I assume he has won that power struggle

Just stop this stupid process and give the job to Sullivan. He's my second pick behind Hextall anyway.

I get the feeling that keeping Tocchet is a condition of the job. You don't interview Pierre twice if you like what Sullivan is saying.

Oh if they hired McGuire then we can confirm something like the Major League situation is going on imo.

Would just be a blatant show of trying to be awful.

Like what is going on here? The NHL finally gets a white knight owner to take over this franchise - a Hispanic (Latino?) billionaire - and then as soon as he is in they f*** him.

If I were to rank the 15 or so candidates, McGuire is 15th. He's even behind Weekes. Pierre McGuire has not worked directly in the NHL since 1995 -- before the Coyotes even existed!

Cynical prayer: the interviews with broadcasters are footsie to keep them praising the club in public
