Wtf is going on? How many times do you get a pass for being a new owner? This is standard business procedure.

It's been more than a calendar year since he took over.

I don't know how you credibly pitch Taylor Hall while you've got players with late bonuses. You absolutely have to have your house in order.

At least the PA isn’t in a bunch over it.

I’m bother more by the delay paying Steenbergen than anything. A couple of days is understandable regardless of the amount.. But 6 weeks and at such a small amount says a lot more.

Everyone knowingly involved with stretchgate should be fired because you shouldn’t be allowed to tarnish the organization and keep your position.

Hard to make that argument however when ownership keeps tripping over its own feet.

Did we at least remember to submit qualifying offers?

it’s like we hired Stan Bowman to handle things.... (Stan famously forgot to qualify Key players which led to panicked overpayments and Tallon eating the blame as he was GM).

we obviously laid off staff that were needed.

This franchise can do 10 positive things in the community but 1 misstep like this resets that progress. We’re multiple years removed from bankruptcy but still seen as a joke and a relocation candidate. Unfair as that is, that’s the reality. We need a rebuild off ice maybe even more so than we do on the ice. That is the challenge ahead of Meruelo.

The answer is to hire someone who takes it personally and isn't happy with sloppy garbage like that, like Hextall.

Some of the names being floated wouldn't give a shit if they flamed out with the Coyotes and put the team into relocation.

I'm worried all the candidates that would legit care about their legacy would be too expensive for Meruelo. Missing out on someone like Zito hurts.

Someone like the Karmanos kid would come in and play with the Coyotes like monopoly money because he can't 'lose'. That was the problem I had with Chayka and it turned out that way.

Really smart to build your franchise on a solid foundation of nepotism. What could go wrong?

Wasn't nepotism our draft strategy for about 10 years in the 2000s to early teens?

Makes total sense - where you don't have draft picks available for nepotism, carry that over to the GM search...

Exactly. I’d kill for Zito right now.

I remember hearing the story that old man Bidwell once deducted the Fedex cost when he sent a bonus payment to a Cardinal Player. Must be an Arizona thing.

Good thing we have Sullivan holding down the fort. He’s right on top of things.

Not his job, especially if he has one foot out the door already. XG is responsible.

He’s the interim GM is he not? Or did he not learn that part or is he just choosing which aspects which fall under hockey ops he wants to perform while not ensuring that the administrative items are completed on time? Tallon ate it when Bowman messed up. Contracts are hockey ops.

if he wants the job he should at least try.

GMs aren't responsible for actually cutting checks and running payroll. I have no idea why you're blaming Sullivan when this hasn't been a problem in the past (that we know of). Only started happening after XG took over, and this would fall under his responsibilities. Plus, you know, all the people they fired or furloughed.
