Did it 3 or 4x that period. I'm all for any edge... But this is silly.

Czechs were better in first. But they didn't score in the 5 on 3 and start period 2 shorthanded.

US seemed to settle in and we're taking over in final minute. If I were then I'd take 1-0 down as a good thing and be happy the game is still in their hands.

Galvas was a lot of fun to watch.. he's either Julius Honka or Oleg tverdovsky.

Yep. Complete domination. They have the puck in the offensive zone almost all the time. I get that they're difference makers thanks to their skill. However, they're also dominating physically which shouldn't be the case. Reber is very small, Ponzetto might be tall but both him and the smaller Forget are very lanky, have a lot of work ahead to fill out. The Slovaks have the 2nd biggest and 2nd tallest team of the tournament. They shouldn't lose all of the battles vs that smallish Swiss top line. I think other opponents are gonna give them a tougher time.
 
Slovak powerplay set up is always so bad at every level. It’s only saved by having a top talent (Nemec, Dvorsky, etc). Other than that I am not sure what exactly the coach is ever thinking

Totally agree, however, this tournament has a short round robin with only three games. This is not the WC where there are 7 RR game sand plenty of time to overcome an early loss. One moe loss or a tie in the next two games and we don't move on.
 
Nice US PP goal... Zellers with assists to Walmart and sears.

Czech D looked awful there. Milota needs to be warned about kicking net off.. getting a bit silly at 5x.

US took a nice healthy run at Benak

No idea how Sikora got that to kos but what a pass... The pass to Sikora was also excellent.

3-1... Now the coach needs to calm down our kids because US are more than capable of coming back.

Sikora was a guy I knew nothing about.. he looks good.

Skok hasn't played much so I'm a bit confused.. maybe injured?

Jecho on line 3... In his third tourney. Probably a 4th rounder unfortunately. Benak is a lot of fun to watch... Reminds me of Pashin a bit. Hopefully he gets drafted higher and makes NHL though. He is dynamic though!

maybe the United States should just send their u17 NTDP squad I feel like they could get a better result

This team is like our U20 team... Few dynamic forwards surrounded by a very good D. Given how few Czech D we've had in the last two decades it is very encouraging to have so many potentially good D coming up. If 4 or 5 become Too 4 NHL D then it's be a big 6 again IMO. Of course, so far, none of them have cracked the NHL but it's encouraging... Jiricek x 2, svozil x 2, galvas, Spacek all seem on an NHL path but time will tell.

That goal was gorgeous... They allowed a lot of chances against... Didn't break and are now heading to third one goal down. Anyone's game. Hoping to see Benak back in third.
