Hate that we are losing
Love how we are playing

I feel we belong with the Swedes so far but they have the goal and we don't.

Benak has been tremendous so far, noticeable every shift.

Kudos to Swedish goalie... he's playing very well.

We have had many looks and that is encouraging!

Swedes got maximum out of this period. We are clearly the better team so far, but one stupid mistake by Dravecky and we are losing. But Swedes got nothing so far except for that one break they sadly finished

Quite entertaining first period. The top Czech line is really fun to watch. Swedish d looked a bit sloppy when they were on the ice, maybe thinking it was any random line. Poor scouting? :)

Sweden continues to play really physical. Härenstam, Novotny and Benak would be my three standouts in the first period. And I guess, Malte Vass.. for that huge hit.

Agree. Nice to have hockey in August.
 
Seeing the stats flashed on TSN, McKenna sure did have himself an awesome U18 - especially for someone his age.

That was massive. He chased the hit, but damn did he make Pavlik pay

On the whole Vass has been one of my major standouts this week. He reminds me of Solberg from last years draft. Scouts will be taking notice. He certainly needs a lot of polish, but the tools are excellent

Agree. Good call. Vass has been good in all games so far. Looks very mobile as well. Possibly the least talked about Swedish defenseman prior to this tournament.
 
Make up call... great hook by Swede to avoid a goal but that was a penalty.
