Team Canada final roster:

G: Tristan Lennox, Dylan Garand

D: Daemon Hunt, Lukas Cormier, Jamie Drysdale, Kaiden Guhle, Jeremie Poirier, Donovan Sebrango, Ryan O'Rourke

F: Theo Rochette, Ozzy Wiesblatt, Justin Sourdif, Jean-Luc Foudy, Ridly Greig, Connor McClennon, Will Cuylle, Hendrix Lapierre, Quinton Byfield, Jake Neighbours, Cole Perfetti, Mavrik Bourque, Seth Jarvis

Jacob Perreault the most notable last cut from the camp.

Wasn't super impressed with Daemon Hunt, and i'd have had Jake Murray in his place who impressed me every time he touched the puck.

The more I think about it, the more I like the balance on D. I'm absolutely kicking myself for not projecting Sebrango on the team when it retrospect, it makes so much sense. Extremely solid in all aspects, similar to Ryan O'Rourke and Guhle. Nice balance to Cormier and Poirier who looked shaky in their own ends at times.

On Lleyton Moore: I personally think he played well enough to earn a spot on the team, but can understand his omission. I DO WONDER if Hockey Canada considered taking him to pair with Drysdale though. For those who aren't aware: Moore and Drysdale had been D partners for like 4-5 years on Toronto Marlboros teams. They had special chemistry in their minor midget year.

Them running the powerplay would have been a TREAT

Who are the top stars in this tournaments?

I wuld say Byfield culd be the biggest star. After him probably Drysdale, Perfetti, Mysak, Rochette, Askarov, Wallstedt, Nybeck, Hirvonen, Lapierre, Foudy, Gaffney, Biondi, McClennon etc... etc...

Slovakia’s lineup in practices have supposedly been all over the place. But it looks like the top six will be, Chromiak - Myklukha - Kaslik, Lasak - Geci - Krajc. Roman faith has also looked very good and made big strides in development

Apart from those who have already been mentioned, I’d also say Aatu Räty, Brad Lambert and Helge Grans. Maybe Eero Niemi? Haven’t seen too much of him.
On the defense I’d like to ad Andrae and Puutio. 2 skilled blueliners in pp.

I'd throw in Chromiak and Delemont who will both get massive amounts of ice time.

Delemont has to prove himself. Unfortunately he hasn't progressed as expected last year. Other Ds are catching up.

From swiss perspectives Knak is probably the most promising teammember. Shades of Timo Meier.
Reichle is an interesting case as well. Good size, and likes to take some risks and challenge opponents one-on-one with the puck on his stick, has a few tricks in his bag as well.

In general the team is better than last year, but I doubt there's enough quality on the swiss team to steal a game. Nevertheless, I am interested how the underagers will do on this level. The 03s could be the best swiss generation depthwise in half a decade.

Will be interesting to see, if Rochette will get the "special" treatment from his former teammates in the CAN-SUI game.

Hope I can catch some Slovakia games, one of the more interesting Slovak teams in recent history.

Your thoughts on the team?
Depends on what team shows up. Overall I think this 2002-born group of players offers good potential, however they have also had some terrible tournaments (WHC U17 comes to mind.)
Personally, I hope to finally see a breakout perfomace from Mysak at the international scene, since he has so far been unable to fully translate his club production to the international games. I also hope to see Svozil play in the top 6, ideally with PP time. Even as an underager he might already be the team's best defenseman. If not, he certainly is the most talented one.

I'll cheer to the end but am worried about this group. Mysak does look like he's poised to cause damage though! I don't know much about Svozil but would be thrilled to have a Dman go in Round 1 to add to our empty cupboards.
