Czechs keep launching mid air passes from board to board on powerplay. Get it into a dangerous area and pass back tot he point. Then they pass some more. Also, the puck is bouncing like crazy... that could be the ice, the puck or the players themselves.
 
Slovaks tied 1:1 with Swedes after first. Both teams hit the bar once, both failed to convert a single powerplay. Slovaks optically a little more active and faster, still anybody's game. Sloppy of course, as U18 often is.
 
I can't confirm.. but I feel like Kris Russel might be the new Czech D coach.lol

They give the puck away and then drop down without fear to block it.

2-1 Czechs after 1... both goalies looked rough... neither team shoots enough. My big piece of advice is to shoot the damn puck more! No one stood out that much IMO. Happy we're leading.

Other teams often miss players who are with U20 team because they are going to play in WJCs. With Canada's depth they don't need U18 players in WJC, so they usually have everyone available.

3-2 Swiss... from a Swiss perspective, both goals were awesome and started with making Czech D look awful. From Czech perspective, our D is getting their jocks handed to them.lol

That should be the goal. USA and Finland have won more WJCs in this decade.

The last power play didn't score but was a thing of beauty... Lots of shots and pressure. Good for swisss to kill it.
 
Swedes 2-1 second intermission after converting one power-play. This continues to be an even game, Slovaks missed a few chances and goalies aren't that bad.
 
Losing to Switzerland on home ice is embarassing, but the Czech team looks like a complete mess. Clearly underestimated their opponent after beating USA in the friendly game.

Much better 2nd period than 1st. It's heating up a bit.

Still think Czechia will win this, if they stay concentrated. Just higher overall skill level.
Both swiss goals, though beautifully finished, were a bit lucky how the plays developed.

I like the 2 underage swiss Ds. Smart decision making.

Was hoping to watch a replay of the Russia - USA game but when I was 10 minutes in, the page refreshed automatically and the video disappeared. Hopefully it comes back.

If Czechs can keep doing what they were doing at end of period... Good things should happen. Swiss need to score a quick goal in counter attack.

Watching the replay of the second goal is painful... Czechs had several chances to prevent that goal... You could blame 4 different players for that one.

Mysak and Ivan have stood out most for me...

Agreed... We can still win this. Swiss haven't had many chances since 3rd goal. We need to score early and maintain pressure... Do not let up.

If we want semis we need a regulation win since both us and Swiss should lose to Canada pretty easily.
 
Just showed bednar has faced 9 shots and let in 3 for a .666. ouch. The first goal was terrible and on him. Second goal was everyone but his fault. I thought he could've had third goal personally.

I agree. The next goal probably will decide this game.

Nevertheless, the swiss are playing better than expected so far.

I gladly take that.
