Bob McKenzie just tweeted that Joe Finley was the only player claimed of yesterdays waivers (by buffalo)

But then in his next tweet says that Hickey, Cliche, Legein, and Meckler are today's waivers......

Legein and Meckler where already placed on waivers prior to the lockout. They cleared and are with the Monarchs. I don't know why they be a waivers again.

They have to clear waivers to come back up to the Kings. I guess all these guys will be in training camp this week? I also guess they'll have to clear waivers again if they get sent back to Manchester

No they weren't. They signed AHL deals with the Monarchs, they were never assigned to the Monarchs by the Kings prior to the lockout.

I do not see the Oilers claiming Hickey... If they were to he would have to beat out either Potter or Peckham for a roster spot.. He might have a higher ceiling than those two but at this moment it does not look like he would...

Oilers also are pretty set for PMD with Whitney, J. Shultz and Petry.. They need a physical defence man that can play top 4 minutes in my opinion but will prob settle on acquiring a physical dman to play the 5-6 role..

There are no re-entry waivers in the new cba.

Meckler and Legein both have 2 ways contracts with the Kings. Both were placed on waivers prior the lockout and they both cleared.

As someone mention there are no more re-entry waivers nor do I think they be called to camp. Both played 3rd/4th line minutes and Meckler has been a healthy scratch most nights down in Manchester.

Only thing I can think of is because of the new CBA they have to go through waivers again? .... or Bob McKenzie has got bad info... Which is possible cause everyone thought Cliche and Hickey where on waivers yesterday (along with Clune and Campbell)

Another person who does not understand how good Alex Martinez is.

Wikipedia says Alex Martinez is a Chilean former footballer born in 1959. I admit to having no idea how good he is/was.

But in the second round, recent Kings picks are Gibson, Toffoli, Clifford, Voynov, Moller, Simmonds, and Joey Ryan. And the upcoming draft is supposed to be deep.

I only seen rumours that theyw ere on waivers yesterday due to not being on the camp roster. I never seen anyone say they were actually assigned to Manchester yesterday.

True. The only reason I question his info is because of Meckler and Legein inclusion in the list.

Like I said maybe it has something to do with the new cba. I don't really know. I guess we'll know by tomorrow one way or the other.

Edmonton just traded for Mark Fistric. They're not claiming Hickey.

So true. Martinez is quality. Arguably a top 4 puck mover on most squads. Responsible, effective, young, good skater, offensive upside, defensive upside, intelligent.

Good news. These once in a decade drafts are gold.

Kills me that we had a top-4 pick in the worst draft in decades!:help:

Mehh, could have been worse. We could have had a top 4 pick in a good draft year and wasted it like we have in the past on studs like Doug Smith, Wayne McBean or Aki Berg.

A bad draft that DL's scouts still managed to pull 3 NHLers from - Simmonds @ 61, Martinez @ 95, King @ 109. While Hickey and possibly Moller still have a shot at making a (deeper)mark in the NHL.

going 5 was karl alzner, 6 was Sam Gagner,

then we have

Jakub Voracek
Logan Couture
David Perron
Jamie Benn
Wayne Simmonds
Max Pacioretty
Brandon Sutter
Kevin Shattenkirk
P.K. Subban
Carl Gunnarsson

LAK just picked poorly. Hickey has been hurt by injuries

Thankfully the Kings redeemed themselves later in that draft with Wayne Simmonds (2nd round), Alec Martinez (4th round), and Dwight King (4th round).

Alec Martinez has become the defenseman that they were hoping Thomas Hickey would be.
