Alright, all keepers are set and the draft order is locked in.

It looks like the 'K' icon is shown for all keepers now if you look at team rosters, but if you try to edit your pre-draft rankings the layers being kept are now shown any differently than those who are available. I remember this being a thing last year, and it'll probably be a little more problematic this year because we have four rosters being dissolved. The keepers are scheduled to be selected as the last picks in the draft, I wanted to do it this way because not all teams have the same amount of prospects and it's not fair to allow a team with less prospects to have more picks at the start of the draft vs the end.

Also, and this didn't seem to happen much last season, draft pick trades should be more easily managed when the keepers are selected at the end of the draft.

So I would propose we up the moves for week one. The autodraft just fed me a bunch of IR guys, not sure how many everyone else has but it is a problem for me. But 3 adds don't even cover the holes in my roster.

2nd point while I realize Quinton Byfield will be on NHL IR for payment reasons because his injury was during the pre-season. In our league he hasn't qualified for the right amount of games and hasn't been actively rostered by LA, so why I have to eat an IR spot on him instead of NA spot is perplexing.

Anyway I hope you all had a fun draft, started the day at 4am, have to work at 6am, going to bed. But excited for another season, wish you all the best of luck!

I don't have any NA spots. I think they might have just been turned into normal spots?

I have NA slots. If you don't have anyone eligible for them then they wouldn't show, only way you'd see them is if you selected the player you were trying to put in one and added the NA tag.

@The Zetterberg Era , I'm sorry you weren't able to take part in the draft, my life was a mess last week and I didn't even think to look at this thread at all before the draft. I'm fine with giving you first shot at the waiver wire and I can make player moves for you. If there's players undrafted that you'd prefer to what's on your roster then let me know, I'll just add those players and exempt them from being your roster moves this week. The Byfield thing is beyond my capabilities unfortunately.

Just for the sake of clarity.... Is the offer to move TZE up to the highest waiver claim spot, and then after the waiver period is over on Wednesday allow him to have more than 3 roster moves? That seems rather generous, but I don't have a problem with it, unless he nabs a player I wanted off waivers lol.

But I'm not sure it's fair to give a manager free reign at the entire free agent/waiver pool before the other 11 managers, if that's what was meant. I myself have moved a few players into IR/NA slots as well, and have multiple waiver claims in for players already to backfill my own roster.

I don't want special treatment life happens not anybody's fault, just I would like to ice a full roster this week, the three pickups would put me short more than likely pending Guentzel's covid stuff.

I put in three waiver claims we will see how it shakes out. Just was trying to put out there the issues I saw.

I kind of anticipated Malkin and Price knowing the autodraft would happen or one of the unvaccinated was what I was thinking while I sat at the airport.

I don't have a single starting goalie is the problem the autodraft left me with, which is tough. I carried two likely to eventually take over on future plays but yeah. Also pretty willing to listen to most anything on the trade front for those interested.

I've noticed some players aren't getting the NA tag right off the bat. I assume once the season starts that will change?

Lots of bubble guys, yeah. Of my 3 "prospects," only one has the NA tag, because he was already sent down to the A. The other two, as of yesterday, hadn't been cut from camp. I think it'll all fall into place today/tomorrow.

To be clear, I think making some concessions so that you aren't completely knee-capped right off the bat is appropriate. The silver lining, of course, is that once Malkin and probably Price are back, you'll have a couple studs later in the season. That'll be nice at least, haha.

Let me know if you have interest in Jake Allen. In all likelihood, I'd be willing to move him, and since he's Price's foil, it could make sense for you?

Sorry I couldn't respond back yesterday. The way I see it we're just putting players on his roster that he would have drafted if he was in the draft, players that wouldn't have been available to you in waivers under those circumstances. Guys that are in waivers now are guys we never drafted when we all had the chance, I don't see it as being all that generous at all, just seems like the right thing to do since he wasn't able to attend the draft.

Anyways, sounds like we're all good but I don't see it as making any special concessions, just trying to make things right.

Any ruling on upping the three slots for week one. I understand it in normal weeks, but I think if we could get enough to fiddle with the initial roster in week 1 it would help. It isn't really for rotating to cheat the system and out-duel the person you're playing through pickups. I understand having that reason. But again I have four open slots and three moves allowed for the week. That is without deciding on drops and adds.

Last year, after the draft, and after moving players to NA and IR slots, and then having further injuries in the first week.... it literally took me 3 weeks to assemble a full, healthy roster. Seemed like a rather unintended consequence of having a rule meant to keep people from cheating the system.

So, yeah, I'm fine with upping the limit for the first week. Set it to 6 and then drop it back to 3 next week. Seems reasonable.

I can up it tomorrow, I'll do it at noon EST so everyone knows when to hit up the waiver wire if they need to. Let's just say for week one there's no limit on adds and then next week I'll set it back to three.

Tough to watch Petersen go, I most certainly would have drafted him and had him as my #1 claim. Yuck.

Alright send me goalie trades people. I need at least one ******* starter.

After I thought about it a little more, I'm just going to make it unlimited moves for 24 hours then I'll move it back to 3. If anyone can't get their roster sorted out in these 24 hours then let me know, but I don't really want to leave it unlimited through the weekend when people might decide to make a move that could impact a game result.

You want Nedeljkovic?

Willing to listen to pretty much any offer for a legit offer.

I have some redundancies in terms of teams so guys like Rust and Voracek probably top the list of what I want to move but really I have to fix it so between offers of Allen and Ned not a ton is off the table.

Allen for Voracek has been accepted.

Man I hate how many Pens I already have Thrillhouse... Going to have to think on that one while I watch the USA game over at a buddies.
