Thx jord
About to finish the fourth GoT book, and all I have to say is that the show could've went along with much cooler storylines.
I couldn't stand the books. I'm usually huge on books over movies/show adaptations. But I hated how the first was written and I didn't want to read anymore. FWIW, I've heard the 4th is the worst of the 5 by far.

Really? The first book is almost exactly what happens in the first season, but I could understand why you'd dislike it. If I hadn't seen the show, trying to learn all of those characters and put everything into context would be infuriating
Does anyone know an estimate of how much someone would need to make to live in NYC (either Brooklyn or Manhattan) without a roommate?
I'm applying for jobs and I hate that damn question of "How much are you looking to make?" before I even get an interview.
Do you want to live in Murderville or somewhere you can feel safe and have people over? Serious question...
A bit in between.
I'll take something like Sheepshead Bay or Kings Highway for now.
$60-$80k per year.
Is there a website you found that on or an estimate you feel is right?
Found some one-bedroom apartments for rent in the area and multiplied those numbers by 40.
In NYC, it should really be NET income = 50(rent), but for your first place on your own in SHB or KH, gross = 40r is close enough.
