And yes, that's why coach's challenge exists. The linesman missed the call in real time, looked at the replay and realized he made the wrong call. So he reversed the call.

The rule is terrible. I get it. But the lineseman followed the protocol, and ended up getting the call correct.

Except they didn't if you go off of their own standards previously set on a goal scored against the Bruins so it wasn't the right call.

They have been calling that play offside all season long. One instance of where they didn't doesn't erase the fact there have been far more times where they did.

They just need consistency. The fact the same exact play has stood before is proof

Seriously, no one cares what happened in some random game against the Flyers. Ovechkin would have another goal but had it taken away in the exact same way. Right call.

Well first of all me and Bruins fans clearly care because we've been jobbed either way on this ****ing rule. Get a little consistency

That play is inconclusive period.

No, it was very conclusive. With one foot on the ice, he was offside. End of discussion.

Definitely in the Caps' pockets. Yep. I see it.

It's fairly obvious. An inconclusive decision ruled for the Caps. A five minute PP turned to three (Bruins could probably have scored a few by the end with it turned into a 5v3 and the PKers two minutes more into a PK). Ovechkin still in the game on a textbook ejection play.

Ovechkin is very, very lucky to still be skating. The new Bruins are a far friendlier version.

:biglaugh: You're so embarrassing.

The Bruins have had so many chances to score another goal and whiffed on all of them. It's time to move on from the overturned goal - the game has been in their own hands enough to stop blaming the refs.

Well you should tell the NHL offices that because they don't think that consistently

Except the NHL knows its own rules, and has been called that way as long as I can remember.

You can straddle the line, but both skates must stay planted on the ice. Once the back skate comes off the ice, you're inside the zone.

Back skate wasn't necessarily in the zone if its in the air

I learned this because the ****ing main office called it against the Bruins.
It doesn't matter where the back skate is, if it's off the ice. It could somehow be right above the redline, all that matters is that the only skate on the ice is offside. Thus a very conclusive replay.

Well then what is your explanation for the goal allowed against the Flyers then? They clearly don't know their own rules then...

Again that's one instance where they possibly got the call wrong. I have several other instances where the exact play tonight WAS called offside.
