That's what I mean, if you have deficiencies out there like Campbell, Nurse, and/or depth, then a more structured system where everyone is insulated together will be helpful. McDavid cherry-picking at the blueline when the puck is in the defensive zone because he can outskate 99.9% of the league for an easy breakaway goal showcases those problems.
If your expected goals against is 1.4 you aren't defending poorly. If the other team gets 6 goals on 1.4 expected your goalie is just really bad.

Tell that to the scoreboard, I saw mistakes galore by both teams and I am not including the goalers here. Maybe these teams bring out the worst in each other lol.

Really fun game

I mean... I don't know how you stop that Lehky deflection....
I mean…… he could have stopped the dribbler where he was barely screened on that went through his legs or maybe that MacKinnon goal from the top of the circle that went short side and made it 5-4……

Or let me guess, that’s not a stoppable shot because it’s MacKinnon? Who hasn’t had about 92% of his shots stopped this year and 90% in his career? Right?

5 goals on the final 13 shots of regulation and almost none of them were threatening.
I actually rethought my statement. THIS game was 100% on Campbell. Nurse was an idiot but it shouldn’t have been a game that made it that far into OT.

Edmontons forwards/defence probably played the best 200’ game they have all season

Matthews reminds me of Lemieux in a few ways.

One of them is that he’s so big and good with the puck that players decide to two hand whack his arms and hands.

I know the stick to hands is common now and gets called but there are attempts to hook and then there are attempts to break a wrist.

You can tell matthews is getting frustrated

Vintage Patrick Kane. Upping his trade value? Now that Towes kind of unofficially announced a bit of retirement, I guess it's only Kane now that's become a story.
