It didn’t deprive him of a scoring opportunity so I don’t believe it’s a penalty shot as a result.
I think they've slightly adjusted their penalty shot threshold this year. I've seen a lot of penalty shots where a shot was taken anyway after the infraction.

Can I watch this Boston Sharks game on Sportsnet or TSN?

I mean I'm gonna look but just trying to save time. Please stop winning so much Bruins! It's so irritating! LOL.

-signed Leafs fans. You guys are gonna need to start paying some rent for living in my head ok? it ain't cheap here btw :)

But putting the puck on net doesnt wipe out a penalty shot and couture basically broomed it in net because he was being hooked backwards. Now you can argue that his move wasnt going to be a hard shot anyway but then its also judging intent not doing what he can to put a puck on net as he is losing balance

He was hooked on a breakaway scoring opportunity. As I understand the rule, yes that is a penalty shot.

I believe it has to cost the player the scoring opportunity. Otherwise it’s just a penalty. Considering he almost scored, I don’t think he was deprived of the scoring opportunity.

To be completely honest, I've seen that call go both ways. It's one of the most inconsistent calls in Hockey.

This Bruins/Sharks game might as well be a Leafs/Flames game.

I’d rather let Carlson try to do that than let Ovechkin stand from his normal spot and shoot.

Carlson isn’t a known goal scorer so I’m not even sure why you’d bring it up. I’m letting Carlson shoot all day long if given the choice

Because I’m pointing out an example of what you’re describing not being effective. Teams seem to have more success against our PP when they attack Backstrom on the half boards. Tough to do that and shade Ovi at the same time. Worth looking into in depth though.

Not sure how that works?

I hate yet respect the Bruins. Get the f*** away from me please lol. Sick of being humiliated by them yet I love the city of Boston and have an intimate connection with it. Not so much their fans but respect their passion. Sabres and Habs are shitting the bed from my point of view, wanted a new first round opponent (assuming my team makes it, could go on a horrible skid I know)

So basically I'm a Sharks fan tonight and it is indeed on SNnow or whatever. Gonna enjoy this 3rd period and hoping for I don't even know what. Just some good hockey. Go Sharks Go?

The Penguins seem to do well with shading Ovechkin a majority of the times. Just because it didn’t work in one instance doesn’t mean it doesn’t work as a whole.

Flame fans are cheering against the Sharks, Toronto fans are cheering against the Bruins.

I'm not even sure if I'm cheering against the Bruins though lol. I've been out of the loop for like a week or something, my apologies there.

I just don't want to face the Bruins in the first round again because I can't take another loss to them, and yet, wouldn't it be nice to slay that dragon. A catch 22 for me.

I just hope the refs aren't letting the Bruins get away with whatever they want like they have in the past. Anyway, I'm watching and it's a fun game hockey is awesome :)

That’s fine that you think that. I’ve watched a fair amount of Caps power plays and disagree. Which is also fine.

I'm sorry I confused your statement of "please stop winning so much Bruins" with you cheering against the Bruins.
