The truth is this game could have gone a different way if Markstrom didn’t play well and/or the Sabres didn’t shoot everything three feet wide.

Nobody believed Jersey was an 80 point team. This isn't a bounce back.. they are going to be one of the best teams in the league.. You don't lose your #1 Dman, #1 Center, #2 Center and goalie for significant chunks of the season without suffering.

I fear that Jack + Meier may not work as a line. Like Meier needs the puck on his stick to be effective more than he's ever going to get on that line. They ran it last year for a while as well and it was not good.

Might like to see Palat on the first line and Meier with Hischier.

I will do exactly that. Thank you for the heads up it's very confusing having regular season games while preseason games are still happening (as far as I know)

It doesn’t work. It’s an awful fit. There’s no reason to split up Nico and Tatar. Those 2 have consistently caved teams in to an absurd degree when together. The easy fix is just flipper Meier and Mercer.
