that was a deliberate fore arm shiver to the head. He chased him down and swung an elbow to his head.

Why wouldn't that be suspended? Should Glendenning, instead of laughing at him, dove to the ice and pretended to be out cold?

Mike Smith would have flopped as if he was shot...

Wild toyed with the Avs all night.
Wild backed off by not getting many shots during the last 2 periods though. But their defense and goaltending finished the job. This was the 3rd straight shutout against the Avs this season. That is a crazy stat that makes no sense to me.

So... earlier in the season I learned that if a defenceman pushes the net off after a shot has been taken, it doesn't matter if the net was off before the puck crossed the line. So this Pittsburgh goal should stand up unless they determine that a) Sutter pushed it off, not Stanton or b) a Penguin touched it after the net was off and before it went in.

Goal should definitely count, if only for the fact that it was going in and the only reason it didn't was the Canucks defenseman throwing himself into the net. The only play he was trying to make was removing the net.

That was honestly the most difficult call to make that I've ever seen. The timing of the puck crossing the red line and the net coming off are perfectly in sync. I don't envy anyone in TO or any ref involved in that.

Yeah, so this goal counted:

With the justification that the shot had been taken before the net was pushed off. They didn't appear to factor that into this decision, because all they said was "the call on the ice stands that the net was off before the puck crossed the line."

Yeah I would not have been pissed if they called that a goal. Puck on the line/going over the line pretty much the exact same millisecond Sutter knocks the net off.

Actually sutter knocked the net off

I don't think Sutter would've affected the net position in any way at all without Stanton barrelling in and taking everything out. But that's a call that if they had determined that it was Sutter, not Stanton, then it's non-reviewable I'm guessing.

In that clip, the defensive player knocked the net off. Here, the offensive player knocked the net off.

Again, I guess it's a lot less clear in this case, but it certainly looked in the replays like the net was pushed off by Stanton. Sutter basically had his foot up against the post, but was sliding by it. Stanton made absolutely sure that net was going to wind up in the corner.

From the replay, it seemed clear to me that Sutter's body was taking the net off already as he had momentum from trying to tap the puck in but missing, Stanton makes a defensive desperation play for Sutter's stick which maybe pushes Sutten into the net faster as a consequence? I just don't think you can say Stanton takes the net off there.

Referees need to build up some stamina, that's the second premature whistle they've had this game when Griess hasn't had the puck.

Letang needs to stop complaining. The refs are purposely not calling when players are making infractions against him. I mean, that's not supposed to happen in a professional league, but refs hold grudges, sadly. He got slashed...no call. He complained. He got tripped..no call. He complained and got 2 mins unsportsmanlike instead.

refs really screwing the Penguins tonight, One of the worst officiated games I have seen. 2 goals minimum scored on plays where Pitsburgh should have drew penalties and some phantom calls. Pens getting slashed and tackled and the refs put the whistles int he pocket lol. Probably annoyed of Pens players chirping them all game.
