Bouchard faked like he was going to bring his stick up high on Myers. Myers reacted to protect himself. If Bouchard wants to try and draw a penalty, then he should expect to pay the price. He got what he deserved. This is the idiot who earlier in the game whipped his head back 3 seconds after an alleged high stick.

I think a body blow would’ve been more appropriate, but honestly when you go so far outside the rules as to tackle someone like that with the clock running down, you’re pretty much asking for it. As long as there’s no injury caused I have zero sympathy for garland in this scenario. He wrapped his ankles around the back of mcdavids leg in a leg lock ffs.

And I say this all as someone who thought the elbow on Johansson was dirty as hell and should’ve been a suspension

I know they were dead tired, but giving up 27 shots to the Vancouver Canucks should embarrass these guys. That's almost 2 games worth for the Canucks. Wonder if McDavid gets one or two games.

Like McDavid laying on him & then punching him in the back of the head while he's on top of him?

I don't think people are watching the whole replay. McD was intentionally on top of him longer than Garland was grabbing ahold of McD.

Oilers fans are the blindest of all fans when it comes to seeing the other side of things. Pettersson was being blatantly interfered with in the last minute. Should have been a call. and yes, McDavid was sitting on Garland for 5 seconds, while Edmonton is setting up a scoring opportunity.

It's always interesting to see how many people don't understand what interference is.

McDavid is the attacking player without the puck. Just because he ends up on top when he collides with the Vancouver player does not mean he interfered, lmao.

Yeah I must’ve missed that part.. I saw 97 throwing punches after Garland tied him up Greco Roman style.. you’re saying McDavid started throwing punches with no provocation whatsoever?

Pretty much the entirety of the final 10 minutes was just a mass of interference all over the ice. Pettersson also got caught flat footed and got his free hand around McDavid with about 4 minutes left. I think we can probably cite misses by the officiating everywhere in this one, which kind of culminated in that mass chaos we saw at the end. They did a less than stellar job of keeping the game under control.

It does set up some fireworks for the rematch though.
 
Will Stu make it to 50th in Goals Saved Above Expected before the season ends? He's currently in 60th out of 90 goalies who played a game this year! The suspense is tingling...

McDavid is starting to give me Messier/Pronger vibes with his self-enforcement. I just hope the Oilers don't lose him for long.

Knob really needs to fall out of love with Josh Brown, the million-dollar pylon. In what world should he not be a scratch over Kapanen and Jeff Skinner?
