The Sabres are pleased to announce the acquisition of forwards Gustav Nyqvist and Darren Helm, along with defenseman Ian White, in exchange for Jason Pominville.

We felt that we needed to rebuild the core of our team; Jason was a good soldier and an excellent hockey player, but we felt like it was time to move - Jason did not disagree. In return, we get a skilled, smart, speedy forward, a two-way ace, and a hard-nosed veteran defenseman with some offensive ability. We are quite pleased with this deal.
