HF-NYR Fantasy Keeper League - Discussion Thread Part I (Waiting List Open!!)

Which is why I dont' think I'm going to be doing much until I can get home, do the roster update and see what's what.

Am actually disappointed we didn't 'start' last week before Shero moved Joe Morrow for an over the hill vet who can't skate.

How does this work with picks? Do I have the picks that Shero gave out while he was drunk?

heard on the rumor mill that semin is on the market. The hurricanes are looking to move him hearing the price is a top 4 defensemen. if more needs to be added BB9 said hes willing to do what it takes.

Everyone has 1 of each pick. Like starting from scratch with those. It's easier for everyone to keep track that way.
 
Again :edmonton is looking for a Center.

Looking to trade PICKS/PROSPECTS + Dman for the center. I have an abundance of bottom pairing Dmen. Potter/Peckham. All picks are available for the right player as are prospects (sans Klefbom).

My roster is not up in the thread but it will be tomorrow (I have softball tonight after work)

Can't look too deep into it, though - NHL 14 may be completely different.
 
Plus we use all the updated rosters. So throughout the season (maybe not this season because it's our quick sim beta season) we will be updating rosters as they come out.
 
I also have Vokoun on the block. Ranked an 87 in game.

Maybe not this quick season, but as the game goes the ratings will be updated to keep it realistic. It works in our favor as the rookies and young player we trade or trade for will increase or decrease according to their play. Example: Kadri is an 81 now because of how he started this season. That's good news for TOR. He's only going up from there. Same with other rookies.

It would not be feasible to have the ratings he adjusted over the course of a season. Once we start the season mode the rosters with their ratings get locked in. That's why I wanted to wait in the last game until the first roster update to include the rookies.

So throughout the full length season the roster updates aren't taken into effect? Not this season but an actual year long season? Just updated before every season?

I can think of a way to have the players be adjusted once they are locked into season mode. I mean, after the first roster update 95% of the roster doesn't change that dramatically ratings wise. There are a few cases here and there where we can maybe tweak their ratings individually if the change is that dramatic but as I said I'm not sure that once we start the season mode there is a way to have the game make the adjustments.

Yeah I think that's the only concern. I agree if a young player dominates and his rating goes up to a point where it makes a difference (5+ rating points or so) but other than that, yeah, not much changes.
