Lets say she gets her name on the tickets. Who enforces her to pay her half if it gets to that point? I don't think it will though. My lawyer is a very good and very expensive.

Same people who enforce anybody upholding their end of a contract, the courts. If she refuses to pay for half of the tickets going forward, then you won't have any problems because they'll be all yours. You'd have to get a wacky judge for them to view sports tickets as a fixed asset that you'd have to compensate for if you keep it entirely going forward (and the ex-wife disputes it), like a house or a vehicle.

I thought the same thing. I talked with my lawyer about my cabin but he said she has no right to it, as it was paid for before I met her and I wasn't common law/married for for than 3 years. I interpreted the tickets the same way. Since they are recreational.

Yes, and you're talking about your Season Seat License here, not the actual tickets. Sounds like it was something you brought into the marriage, not something that was acquired during the marriage (especially if you acquired the rights to the Seat License during the Drive to 13,000 - which predates your even moving in together).

Dammit. I just realized she moved in, in 2010. But my parents just told me they will buy the contract off me right now. If its in my parent's name then she really has no chance in hell at getting them.

If you transfer those assets now, she can fight you over them.

You really have to get a lawyer - HFBoards is probably not the best place to get legal advice. ;) Additionally: she could potentially read your commentary here.

That still predates the 3-year common-law thing. And worst case, you assign some value to the Season Seat License and settle on a dollar figure (e.g. there's a $500 deposit on 2 seats, waiting list is X years long at $50/year or whatever, but tickets are widely available for most games so put the value at $1000 per seat or something).

I mentioned that to her that I will give her tickets at ticket value, whenever she wants. And if she wanted her name on the tickets, she would have to pay for her half in February when it's due cause I'm not chasing her every month. I am being totally fair. My lawyer will be looking at options.

I have a lawyer, just discussing options with everyone, so I can talk to him about it. You all are free. He's expensive.

Just so you all know. We are not fighting just trying to figure things out.

Honestly, best of luck with it - situations like this are never fun. :(

 at that Donna fight. Some of you guys watch a lot of shows! I just can't keep up with that many with school, PS3, friends etc.

And we have a winner

Jip. Suits started on such a high note and dropped down soooo badly. Wow.

Since he's working as an "established" lawyer and he's finally with that hot chick that actually can't act at all besides making a pretty face (did someone else recognize how bad she's acting sometimes?), the show obviously doesn't really know where to go from here. It literally seems like they wrote that cool idea and a script for two seasons and now their stuck with the show because they had to write another 2 seasons with no idea what to do with their plot.

I mean is there anyone that actually gives a **** about all the others characters fighting for dominance inside the firm? The only really interesting characters is Louis. Yeah, the crazy cat guy. Those writers should be ashamed that the person I can identify the most after 2 seasons is the crazy, pathetic, fat cat guy.

I agree. Season 1 was awesome because there was that bit of "hiding Mike" with only Harvey and Donna knowing. Now EVERYBODY knows pretty much and it's killed that angle (in the thread in Entertainment someone mentioned that that angle has to be ended eventually which I agree with). Plus in season 1 it was all these Harvey/Mike bro moments doing cases together cracking jokes and weird references. The whole internal fight/struggle was boring and I think the show was better suited (heh) as standalone episodes in Law & Order style (with no overall arc).

Hardman was a good actor (liked him in Breaking Bad as well) and he had me "hating" him very easily but they should have had him become way more established for a couple seasons and actually had him leave and start a rival firm rather than the internal thing that had what, half a season of build-up.

They killed the Mike/Rachel thing the moment they went back and had him get with that other girl. The flip-floppy nature gets me uninterested in romances, the love-triangle is too overplayed.

They also ruined Harvey with that Scotty romance/whatever (even though she's pretty foxy as well). Harvey worked better like what Barney in HIMYM started as, with that mysterious personal life but just a kick ass lawyer who didn't take **** from anybody.

Is that Dark Souls 2 your talking about? What's that game like, I've heard of it in passing don't really know much about it.

I'm currently reworking my through Mass Effect 1 to 3 while getting the DLC as well which I never had before. Actually adds a lot to the story. Still working on #2 though, these games take so long. I pre-ordered Titanfall and have it sitting on XB1 still in it's packaging.

the Souls games are all action RPGs with the difficulty cranked up - the thing is the difficulty is organic, there are no easy-hard settings

you learn through trial and error and a whole lotta dying (especially if you're new)

this iteration is more user friendly in that it eases you into the game more fluidly and they actually decided to explain some of the mechanics :P

there's both PvE and PvP but unless you're playing offline, the PvP is always on and you can get invaded at pretty much anytime (with certain restrictions). You're also able to summon NPC's or other players to aid in invasions or just boss battles.

pretty meh synopsis on my part but it's pretty much the kind of game you have to experience on your own to get it (or watch a youtube vid I guess)

I got my answer from your reply. The lawyer said it is not a marital asset, because the financial obligations are yearly. Since a new contract was started in February, it's my obligation. I might have to pay her $500 for half of the down payment originally and half of the account from April until August of last year from the monthly ticket payment minus the games she went to, which was 3. She left in September before the next payment was due. Whew. Didn't charge me either. lol

Hamsters didn't work out for you eh? :(

Oh, I actually asked math girl if she honestly wanted to see me outside of school, and she said yes, so I choose to trust her. Then I chucked some hamsters on her for good luck before our exam Thursday.

But women in general? Damn I'm lost when it comes to them.

Ok, I only watch the Walking Dead and hockey (and other sports) on TV but :amazed: what show is that please?

There we go.

Women. I don't get them.

You're halfway there. The reality is none of us really ever do. Women and men are just wired completely differently and don't think the same way about a lot of stuff. Women are complicated, men are simple. Or simpletons. Whatever works for you.

Took out HIMYM and New Girl and you'd have a pretty decent list. Don't know anything about Top Gear, Musketeers, The Hour, Shameless, Psych or Quite Interesting though.

I am a HUGE Zoe Deschanel fan but I just cannot see what anyone can possible see in New Girl. It's so annoying, obvious and just plain BORING. The acting and scripts are just awful, but somehow not awful in way that is even funny. Barely ranks above the hell holes of Chuck Lorre (2.5 Men, BBT).

HIMYM and New Girl are my equivalent of the Kardashians I guess haha. Something I can watch that's not too serious and I can turn my brain off.

Top Gear: Show about cars. Can be pretty funny and entertaining too. They have lots of celebrities on there too doing some interviews and driving vehicles. Aaron Paul was on there recently I think but I haven't seen that episode yet.

The Musketeers: Historical drama based on the three musketeers. Peter Capaldi is actually Cardinal Richelieu in it but they'll have to figure out something for next season since he's the doctor now.

The Hour: Drama based in the 50s, they set up a current affairs show for the BBC. Only really started watching it because Dominic West (McNulty) is in it.

Shameless: Based on the original UK show... it's actually one of the few where I prefer the US remake. Dad is a raging alcoholic and mom is absent... pretty much the big sister trying to raise and care for all the other kids. Can be funny, can be serious, can be straight up ****ed up. But it's amazing and I love it.

Psych: Only a couple more episodes left until it's done. Main character has really really good observational skills and convinces the police he's psychic. I loved the first few seasons so much and it slowly started dropping off. Still a fan and I'll finish it out.

Quite Interesting: You might like this one. It's one of those British quiz shows with Stephen Fry presenting. He asks really hard questions and you get points for being interesting. And lose points for being "pathetically" obvious. Lots of comedians and famous (mostly) British actors. David Mitchell, Jimmy Carr, Rich Hall, Rob Brydon, Dara O Briain are all on it at some point. There are tons of episodes and clips all over youtube.

Below video, they were given a board with random letters and throughout the show they made anagrams. Jimmy Carr somehow used every one of his letters.

All but one are British shows so I get why you haven't heard of them haha. My dad loves Brit humour so I think it was passed on to me.

I don't see your problems guys

I'm pretty much obsessed with watching TV shows. Currently, I'm watching:

Actively watching:
How I Met Your Mother
Community
Two and A Half Men
New Girl
Modern Family
True Detective
Shameless
The Big Bang Theory
The Walking Dead
Family Guy
Suits
(though I paused three weeks ago because the 3rd season is boring as ****)

On the list:
House of Cards

Started watching but stopped and still unsure about continuing or not:
Girls
2 Broke Girls
30 Rock

Desperately waiting for new seasons:
Game of Thrones
Californication
Simpsons (German dubbed)
South Park

'edit'

and something I wanna share because I'm watching it right now: Oh my god I'm so in love with Allison Brie. Seriously... I sometimes have to rewind some scenes with her because I just couldn't concentrate on what was said. It's pretty sad actually and I'm normally not that kind of person. I think I'd piss my pants if I ever saw her standing in front of me and talking to me. AND I'M NOT EVEN INTO BRUNETTES AAAAHHHH.

Don't give up on 2 Broke Girls. It's not cerebral by any stretch of the imagination, but Kat Dennings alone is worth it, and Oleg and Sophie are friggin hilarious.

New Girl is brilliantly written. It's one of the smarter sitcoms being written right now. It's not all just formulaic sitcom tripe (don't get me wrong, I love that too  )
