We are looking one of the more accomplished superstars in v18. I mean he has 12 NHL First All-Star Team Awards. He just dominated year after year. He is a true leader, I'm pretty sure the NHL Mark Messier Leadership Trophy is now going to be named the NHL Noah Sebastian Leadership Trophy. He owned it for years. But this guy is a born scorer. He didn't have the most spectacular season in his first year in Barrie, but after that he really elevated his game to a level that no one could have seen. I think in a redraft this guy goes #1 overall. He's 6'5 and plays center. I'm not sure how he dropped so far down in the draft like he did. I think his biggest regret would be staying loyal to the Dallas Stars. He never moved teams, he was the heart beat of the that team and scored at will for them. Being voted league MVP 6 times. However he was never able to lead them past the 2nd round. I think the Dallas Management team would look back and feel like they should have done more with a talent like Sebastian. He always got them to the playoffs which is why he didn't represent the Ukraine too many times. But when he did play for Team Ukraine he always left an impact. Congrats on a great career! Sebastian was entered into the NHL Hall of Fame.

Great write up!! This definitely makes up for my last guy. Wish I had more playoff success but honestly, I won't hold it against somebody for being loyal to a team like that, even without success. I'd probably do the same. Thanks for doing this!!!

This is the end of the line of a beautiful career for Mr. Skliar. One of the leagues top defenseman and one of the more outstanding superstars in v18. Skliar is a skilled offensive dman who has demonstrated a knack for playmaking since the early days in his career. He has literally won Top Defenseman Award after Top Defenseman Award and all major awards defensemen can win at every level. In my opinion, Skliar got so much better with age. You could see the glimpses of outstanding play in Philadelphia, but once he got to Buffalo he really took off. Scoring high numbers and even scoring over 20 goals multiple seasons. His best season came in 2042/43 where he scored 106 points and exploded on the scene with Gagne. What's most impressive about Skliar is that he was not only amazing on the offensive end, he was a great defensive defenseman as well. Finishing his career with 1,312 career NHL hits, 473 career NHL takeaways and 2,743 career NHL blocked shots. His overall career play was outstanding. He also was a key part in Ukraine's international rise. However it was really rare because he was always in the playoffs. Skliar was a great career to follow and he was inducted into the hockey hall of fame!

The Latvian Prince has decided to call it a career. Ojars Kundzins was one of the more interesting players to follow. The Latvian athlete decided to start his hockey career in the US Prep School System as he wanted to go to on scholarship. Right from Culver it was evident that he was going to be an outstanding goal scorer. His goal scoring garnered a ton of interest right across the nation and he ended up accepting a scholarship at Michigan State. The Ducks really let Kundzins permeate in the NCAA as he played 3 seasons and had really great seasons being a big time goal scorer and also even let him bake in the AHL for a number of games. Once he got his feet under him, this guy exploded as a pure offensive threat. He was a natural scorer in the NCAA who really refined his game once he got to the NHL. He became more of an overall playmaker. He is probably one of the more dynamic superstars and had a lot of ability. I think he never really got a fair shake at many major awards but he should have been in the conversation more. Anaheim ended up winning a Stanley Cup while he was at Michigan State and they never made it back. I know Ojars Kundzins is probably wishing that they had signed him a few years earlier so he could have been apart of that great championship run. I think Anaheim has to look at this pick and think, "we got an absolute steal at 20th overall in 2024". He is their All-Time Franchise Record Holder for most of the career categories and he gave his all to the organization. It wasn't until the end of the road when the organization decided to invest their money in younger players they let him walk. He signed 1 more year with the Islanders to chase a cup! He ended up having a good playoffs 16 points in 14 games, the second longest playoff run of his career. In the end I think even though it was a good year, it wasn't the same not being in Anaheim. For that reason I believe he decided to retire. Overall it was a great career with a lot to recount and be proud of! Ojars Kundzins was inducted to the NHL hall of fame.

Mr. International if I could phrase it so eloquently is how I view Rivas. What a job he has done to carry the nation of Argentina on his back. He brought them from the depths of Division 3 World Championships to the tops of Div 1B and battling in 1A. I really enjoyed tracking his career as he is a special one. Coming from a non-traditional hockey market to be the effective player he was is amazing. I think one thing to note is that, I was quite disappointed in his offensive output. I was expecting him to put up greater numbers. I'm not sure if that has to do more with his skill or more to do with the fact that he never played on really strong teams. He was a bit of a suitcase, but he was a leader and a guy capable of putting up good seasons. He is more of your playmaking center. I liken him to Niklas Backstrom. A guy who has elite vision and can get you 30 goals, but he is mainly going to be the set up guy. He really didn't win any NHL awards but I think this is a career he can be happy with overall. Congrats on the great career!
I have not achieved important things in the NHL but I am excited about the story regarding the Argentine national team that achieved a lot. thanks for the simulation 🙂 @francis246

Awesome! Thank you again @francis246! Can't wait for v19!

The rock behind Ukraine hockey has called it a career. In all honesty we could potentially be looking at one of the best goalies to grace our EHM superstar series and also the NHL. Yavorskyi is such an accomplished goalie and he had so much promise right from the start of his career. Right out the gate, he took an unconventional path for a European goalie. He went the college route and had an absolute stud season with Boston College. So good of a season that propelled him to a top 10 pick and his career took off right away. One thing I've loved watching about Yavorskyi is that he is a playoff performer. He has so much playoff experience. 199 NHL playoff games, 4 Stanley Cup Finals Appearances, 1 Conn Smythe Trophy. Yavorskyi is a goalie that you can count on in the playoffs to lead you to glory. It's hard to even determine whether his stint in Buffalo or Ottawa was better. I believe he was effective in both spots. He is the NHL leader in wins and among the best in save percentage and GAA. He's set records everywhere he's gone. Lets also not forget the impact he had on Team Ukraine. Helping them win multiple gold medals at Div 1A World Championships. Basically if he was available, they were going to win Gold. A highlight for him must have also been representing Ukraine at the 2042 Olympics. With this career Yavorskyi definitely can be considered on of the best overall players and I'm so happy we got the chance to follow his career.

Just a dominant goalie, a wonder to track, from a unique county, hell of a player! Today we recap the great career of Marco Finzi. The Argentine national made waves in the NHL and throughout this HF Boards EHM Superstar series. Just a born winner! I think it's really hard to decipher who is the better goalie between Yavorskyi and Finzi. Both had amazing careers! Finzi gave his entire career to the Golden Knights and was a key cog in their two championships. He had a good start to his career however, Vegas had too many goaltenders and Finzi had to spend some time in the AHL to start. However, once they brought him up from Henderson... he didn't look back! Immediately making them a Stanley Cup threat and finally helping them lift the Stanley Cup in 2027 and 9 years later in 2036! At the very end he went to Toronto to try and help them win a Stanley Cup and he immediately made the team a championship contender. However they fell just short! Finzi had so many high 30 wins. It also sucks that he finished at 699 career wins! I think looking back he would have wanted at least one 40 win season. Other than that he can be happy. He won every major award that a goalie can win and he really helped to lift Argentina from the bottom ranks of the World Championships! He has multiple international medals to his name and I know he is excited and happy about how everything played out! Congrats on a great career!

It's the end of the road for one of the quieter but very effective superstars. Ukraini was an interesting one to track. I was very curious about his progression as a player. His shot was probably the worst among all superstars but he was a two-way playmaker. This guy has a knack for turning over pucks and then going the other way to create plays. Very similar to Mitch Marner with an even worse shot. I was very surprised that Slava Ukraini was able to eclipse 30 goals. But he did it. Every other season he was about a 20 goal scorer. Like I mentioned before his bread and butter is playmaking a defensive abilities. I really respect his career. He didn't win many major awards but he was loyal and really tried to make things work in Portland. He had an outstanding season in 2035/36 where he put up 97 points, 70 of those points were assists. Another interesting fact is that Ukraini is a beautiful open ice hitter and loves laying the body. Over his career he had 5,331 assists. He was a physical beast out there. I think where he was drafted was fair, he had some decent seasons in Belarus but nothing that screamed superstar. He still had a very long career and put up 1,352 over his career. That is respectable and you have to love his loyalty to a new franchise.

Maybe the best name and number combination in our EHM superstar. When I look at Bonderenko's jersey's I'm like damn, that is a hell of a player! It's been a great career for Bondrenko. He finished his career with 1,820 games and 842 goals. He is a similar copy to the great Alex Ovechkin. A natural goal scorer who loves filling up the net every chance he gets. Simply put the DnXL was too easy of league for him. At 15 and 16 Bondrenko was just dummying adults in that league. He went on to the OHL where he had a good year but not a great year. His shooting percentage dropped to 9.5, I think it was an adjustment for him, going from Ukraine to Canada isn't the easiest transition. Honestly thinking back, when he got drafted 15th overall to the Washington Capitals, I was so excited because I knew it would make a great story line. The Capitals drafting their Ovechkin replacement. It took him some time to settle in to Washington. I'm sure the pressure to live up to Ovechkin played a factor. However once he found his grove boy did he not look back. He immediately went from a 20 goal scorer to a consistent 40+ goal scorer. He was taking more shots and getting more opportunity. One thing I loved about tracking this guy, is that he can play with anyone. He just makes it work. He is the finisher and when he signed in Boston he was that key piece they needed to get over the top and win! Rightfully so, he was awarded the Conn Smythe. I think he would have loved to win a couple more Rocket Richard Trophy's, however I know he's happy with his career and wouldn't trade it for the world!

When I think about Lucky Luciano, I think generational talent. At 6'5", 194lbs he is a dynamic power forward winger that was just so dominant throughout his career. He didn't do a whole lot of scoring with the Toronto Marlboros but to be honest he was one of the youngest players on that team. However he really jumped onto our screens in Kitchener. He just kept getting better each year. He definitely lived up to the 1st overall pick hype in the OHL. I was very surprised to see he didn't go 1st overall in the NHL. He had 92 points in 60 games in his second OHL season. That is just pure domination and that doesn't even take into account that his Kitchener team was just really brutal both years he was there. They failed to make the playoffs. Luciano ended up going 5th overall to the Houston Aeros. An expansion franchise, who the next year drafted his Kitchener teammate and future generational talent Ryan Roobroeck. These two together were expected to lead Houston to glory but it just never happened. The franchise just couldn't support Luciano and Roobroeck with the right players. Luciano's offense struggled because of it. In 2030, things started to turn around and we really started to see Luciano's offensive production explode. Despite the big offensive production the team still wasn't doing well, so Luciano requested a trade to go back home to his hometown team the Toronto Maple Leafs. Boy did that trade ever turn out so well. He was able to make a Stanley Cup Finals and although he lost, you could tell he was much more comfortable in a Leafs uniform and he was able to be extremely good for a consistent period of time. He's a natural goal scorer, scoring over 800 goals and he was really lucky to not have any major injuries. To demonstrate how good of a goal scorer is, he scored over 800 goals without having a 50 goal season! I know he didn't win too many major awards, but this is a career you can look at and be proud. He won every type of Olympic Medal and was a very consistent player. Congrats on the great career.

Great career for Luciano! No major hardware or Stanley cup, but had a great international career and just very consistent overall. I think leaving Houston earlier would have been better for him career wise. Thank you @francis246 for your hard work, looking forward to the next one.

The first of the Czechia triplets has decided to retire! It's been an amazing career for Dominik. He is a very big and skilled playmaking winger. I think initially, there may have been hype that he could have been the most talented of the 3. He doesn't have a lot of flair to his game but he is a straight-line offensive guy. He can kill you off the rush. He is so good with pushing the pace and passing the puck. He didn't have a hard shot, so most of the time he was a guy who was looking to pass. He also wasn't shy to lay the body. Recapping his career, it was pretty evident that the Rosebuds did not use him properly. In fairness they did also have Michkov, so his ice time was limited. But I believe if they could do it again, they would have played both on the top line and generated more success. Dominik really aged gracefully with age. His offensive output really took off in 2035/36. He scored 111 points and took home the Art Ross Trophy. Putting the hockey world on notice that he is extremely talented! Although he didn't win too many awards he was able to help Vancouver make the Stanley Cup finals and give their fans something to cheer about. He was also a big part of Team Czechia and their international success. Playing many Olympic and World Championships with the team. Also helping Czechia to a silver medal in 2038. It was also very cool to see him link up with his brothers to end of his career. He had a decent run and they almost made some damage in the playoffs but I think the novelty of them linking up in Quebec will be something they remember forever! Congrats on a great career.
