I also feel, Shep has been in the way of Stevenson's development. Stevenson needs to be given the lions share of starts, and not Shep. Bears are still a top team, but I don't think they will go far a 3rd year in a row in the playoffs(their D group is just not as good without McIIrath, whom can't be sent back to the Bears because another NHL team might pick him up on waivers).

Agree with all of that. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Caps try to get McIlrath through. But really who reason they wanted him up was for physical presence or change of pace. We haven’t needed either so he has just sat. They could also send Alexyev down if they don’t plan to resign him.

Either can go down free for a one week training stint. We could see that over 4 nations.

Bears erase an 0-3 first period deficit to win 5-4. Miro with another three point night (1+2). Hunt finally puts up a good offensive performance with three assists. Nicky Leivermann -4 in a 5-4 win... ouch!
They played a solid third period defensively. Gotta play that way for three periods to be a contender again. Thank god they signed Hunt late or this team would be in trouble defensively. I know he hasn’t been great this year but it’s slim pickings this time of year for help. They’ve lost HHA, Day, Osipov and they sent Hudson Thornton away from SC to Orlando earlier this year so 4 contracted players gone.

Hopefully Hunt can build on it. He's obviously been a reliable contributor in the past, I think he's going to be seeing a lot more ice time in the near future. I'd like to see them add another defender at the deadline but unfortunately they're already pretty handcuffed by the veteran rule as is.

Would be nice if Washington could return either Mac or Alexeyev if they're just gonna collect mothballs :naughty: Complicates the vet rule more but I doubt either would get claimed. Doubt it'll happen, wish it would though, lol. Last night Fisch wondered if the Caps would consider sending either down for a conditioning stint given that they've both barely played in the last two months.

Initial thoughts on that sweater are not positive. Seems like a quickly thrown together money grab to a fan base that will throw money at anything. Wasn't a fan of the last Alternate jersey either, though.
After watching both games this weekend on Flo, I'll admit that my initial thoughts were wrong. These Alternate jerseys are worse than I thought initially. I do not like them at all. With the word mark across the chest and the off center bears head logo below it, they look like (poorly designed) long sleeve baseball jerseys.

Between the rebranded home & aways and these alternates, I'm not really impressed with what they've done. Feels like a big miss. Maybe the brown homes will be better starting next week. Of course, we've only got 2 games left on our plan and I believe they are wearing auction jerseys for both of them.
