Many of us were worried about McMichael not being able to cash in on all the high danger chances he was creating last year. One notable difference is that McMichael and Protas were creating more at the NHL level during their NHL stints. I think Lappy could very well end up being a top six player but I have doubts about Miro. He simply doesn’t drive enough of the play at either the AHL or NHL level IMHO.
He couldn't finish to save his life, whether on a breakaway or a wrister from the slot, and was obviously frustrated by it.
I see Miro at the same level of development as McMichael was last year.
He gets himself into areas with space but just hasn't been able to get the puck on net yet. His shot is a rocket but it's not as accurate as it needs to be.
Last night he had a goal and 5 shots on net for Hershey. He's getting looks but he's rushing his release in my opinion.
Once he calms down and finds his pace and confidence I think his numbers will climb dramatically and he'll mature into a solid, shoot first winger.
I don't expect him to be a Michkov like force on the ice, but I do think he'll be a consistent scorer in this league.
