You wear that often? Pretty sweet one on a guy below where we normally sit behind the benches.
As much as I'd still love to rep Budaj (he was my first favorite hockey player and I was always a fan of his), I got that jersey when I was a kid and it probably hasn't fit me for close to 15 years, so unfortunately no :( Still have it though.

Protas has looked really good tonight. So has Lapierre and Beck. I have said this plenty but I really like Rybinski. He is a smart checking 4RW who can take over for Hathaway.

CMM has been ok. Nardella looks rusty. McIlrath is just bad.

Haha gotcha, always see a guy a row or two behind our bench with one was wondering if it was you! Sweet jersey though, hang onto it, maybe frame it :)

Give the re-additions a little time to get their sea legs again, then no excuses. No reason this team shouldn't be producing at similar rates to the mid-late 00s Cup teams.

Hershey is freaking loaded. Wow. Really thought a bottom feeder would take a chance on snivley given his point production in his brief stint before injury last season. Could see a Matty P esque career for him if deployed right in the NHL.

It is crazy how loaded Hershey is. Some good players are going to sit or sent to SC. They should take the Calder this year.

The end of the game was a bit nereracking But once again the 4th line (Malenstyn-Sutter-Rybinski) was great and finished it off. Even some fireworks at the end with that line out. Iorio trying to box the Crunch guy out was funny.

06, 09, and 10 teams would destroy this team on ice and take their lunch money in the process.

This will sound incredibly reactionary, because a lot of guys just came back less than a week ago and haven't even played a full weekend's worth of games since then. But even before the additions (which will hopefully settle in before long) this was the most boring, unimpressive "top" Bears team I can remember in my almost 20 years of watching. They've just seemed to be missing an extra spark that those other three teams all seemed to have. Those clubs could flip a switch and take over games... this team so far, they eke out one or two goal wins and almost choke away three or four goal leads at an alarming rate. This isn't new and is a trend that goes back to last year at least. The one Hartford game in November is the only one I can really remember that they dominated the pace and were in control the whole game.

I reiterate, I hope the new guys find their groove and start to mesh because despite their record, the whole season this team hasn't really screamed Calder Cup champs to me. On paper, this is their deepest roster since 09 or so, so I'm really hoping they settle in soon.

Still leading the Atlantic division by 3 points or so. Have noticed the coughing up of leads. Curious if that is letting the foot of the gas or some other reason.

Man what I wouldn't give for a Graham Mink type on this team. I'm incredibly biased because he's one of my two favorite Bears of all time with Bourque, but I don't think it's a coincidence he was a big contributor in two of their last three Cups. He was a perfect complement to Fleischmann and Beech in 06 and especially to Giroux and Aucoin in 09. Big body who excelled at board battles and parking his ass in front of the net (and had the skill to finish) and always gave 110%.

Don't get me wrong, I love the small skilled modern brand of hockey but I think that up front, the Bears are rapidly approaching too many cooks in that regard. They do have a few big boys already, of course. Protas has been pretty good along the boards and has the most talent of said big boys, maybe he can develop a touch of that extra edge to his game.
