and to think even with the likely graduates (mcmichael, protas, frank) the bears will have some interesting rookies next year (miroshnichenko, suzdalev, trineyev, persson, hofer), the roster may look a bit different but depending on how things go we could be right back in it

They eternal churn.

What a response after the first 30 minutes. I don't think they showed much up until that but afterwards they were really good. After the 3rd and OT the Firebirds rarely got into the zone and the they weren't really dangerous apart from the PP, whereas it was attack after attack for Hershey.

Couldn't have asked for more... Calder Cup, all the kids on the scoreboard, Shepherd was great and Johansen looked really good again. I hope he can make it to the NHL because he looks really really good in the AHL level, even against the best teams.

I f***ing fell asleep UGH. The perils of having three young kids and a job that runs you ragged. First thing I did was check my phone and click on Hershey’s Twitter page to see how it ended, pretty cool graphic to wake up to.

Congrats @Strawberry Fields and @hb12xchamps (who already has the username updated) and the rest of the Bears fans. Wild season from the Bears and coming back from being down 2-0 in the series and 2-0 in G7 was the right way for this team to win.

This was Lapi’s best game of the playoffs and McMike, Iorio, and Johansen all looked great as well. Protas with a huge play to set up the second goal. The kids are alright.

PS. I love watching the Black Aces storm onto the ice after they won. I can’t tell who but someone ate it trying to get off the bench

How did Snively look? Always thought he’s overlooked by our fans as a bottom six guy, he plays with a ton of energy. I’d like to see him play more this year

Doubt Frank makes the jump. Too light on pucks. Malenstyn should. Some pretty decent forward size in that group of prospects at least and they may add more. The defense may need some rebuilding depending on exits. Goaltending and coaching also up in the air. Very likely new vets added to offset losses.

That Shep breakaway save was the turning point. Hell of a response to finally seize and sustain momentum in their barn.

As most of you know I didn't believe in this team all year. They were incredibly inconsistent and couldn't hold a lead or momentum to save their lives. I frankly didn't think they'd even get past Charlotte. I'm very happy to be wrong. This is the most delicious crow I've ever eaten!

Kind of weird that when a new franchise makes it to a Cup final a Capitals team/affiliate wakes from its slumber to beat them.

How many more expansion drafts we got coming?
They did the same in 2010 when they beat the first year Texas Stars, after also being down 0-2.

Impressed with how the Bears used their legs and conditioning to get back into the game. Great to see McMichael, Lappy, Protas and Iorio play strong games in a game like this. And good job to this board for all the reverse jinx posts (mine included) midway through period 2.

Many thanks to the Hershey faithful on this board for keeping us informed all year

Went to bed after the 1st, dvr’d the rest w a 30 min extended. Dvr stopped at the 12:04 mark of OT … the one time I oddly decide to be judicious w DVR space lol

Congrat Hershey!!

Is there going to be a parade? Would love to take the fam up there to party

Grats to the Bears and RIP to @hb12xchamps and anyone else who stayed up to watch it and has to work this morning.

I've been wondering if they had any Russian players in the wings or AHL vets (or even NHL) who spoke Russian they could bring in to help Miro along next season.

After getting absolutely curb stomped in the first three games at CV, I had low expectations for last night. Went out with friends, got home and caught almost all of overtime. Seeing that it was CMM and Lap that scored the goals to dig back in was "chefs kiss" perfect. Seeing Shep make that massive save on the shorty bid, just reminds that it's not the qty of saves but the quality and timing that makes a goalie great.

Seeing them win, despite the drunken camera work, was so awesome. Sports are great when your team wins. Happy to see the boys celebrating like that. Congrats Bears fans.
