Here's the cliff, everyone jump. EDM wins 4-2

When it comes down to just a few points, every missed point just gets magnified. A regulation loss to Buffalo, Arizona, Edmonton, Carolina, New Jersey. SO losses to Edmonton and Toronto. The 6 worst teams in the league, 14 possible points in those 7 games, and the Kings came away with 2. Throw in a home loss to Philly, and an OT loss in Philly, and that's 3 out of 18 possible points. That turnover against Florida that resulted in 0 points in that game, 3 out of 20 points. If the Kings had managed just 10 of those possible 20 points, it's a different discussion, as the Kings might have a top 10 record, and home ice in the 1st round.

Then there are those 2 home games against Calgary where the Kings had 3rd period leads only to lose in OT. If the Kings had won those games in regulation, assuming everything else is the same(probably wouldn't be, but whatever), Kings have 95 points, the Flames have 91.

It sucks that it's slowly turning into one of those what could've been seasons. You are what your record says you are, and so far, the Kings just haven't been good enough, for whatever reasons, to be a playoff team. It can still change.

For the Kings they played 12 games that were 3-2 out of 80. It was probably the most common score but if 15% of your games makes it 3-2 league....

I wasn't trying to be a smart ass. I think the point Sutter was trying to make with his comment is that if the Kings score 3 goals in a game they are almost impossible to beat, as your data suggests.

No one will care in the end once the kings get in and dispose of Canucks. Like it or not the team was built big strong but slow which likes to control the puck and pace of play. This team was designed as playoff team pure and simple. No one can change a team quickly in new salary cap era of new nhl. But 1-0 games are what wins in playoffs when games tighten up and there is no open ice.

It just amazes me that people are still calling for Richards to be inserted into the lineup. It's like certain people haven't watched Richards play the last two seasons.

Mike Richards last 25 games played for the Kings..

1G, 2A, 3Pts, -8

With zero physical game. I mean I don't even know what to say when I read a post like the one you replied to.

Ha. I would love to comment on this, but I don't want to be locked out of another thread.

I'll let Herby speak for me. Those stats are very telling.

Out of the whole night and GDT/PGT, That's what you have to contribute and wanted to comment on ?

Jesus.

Let us still cling to our hope for Rick, darn it, and reminisce about the good old days of his play.

And while we're at it, the days when the Kings made the playoffs.

And could hold a lead.

Heh. I pulled up the PGT after game 3 and it's a carbon copy.

It would be "That's so Kings" to win Thursday and win Saturday. Of course that also requires the Jets to lay an egg vs. Colorado.

Who knows... the team has done the almost impossible before. They can certainly swing the improbable.

I expect the Kings to win those games but I just don't see it mattering at all because the games we don't control are not going to go our way. If Colorado doesn't beat Winnipeg, we're done.

Why either of those yahoos are obsessed with Richards right now is beyond comprehension. Who ****ing cares about Mike Richards? He played a limited role this year and the team still sucked.

There's so much blame to go around for this season it baffles me that a select few continue to grind the Richards axe. How much do you guys need to be "right" on the internet? Is it like a compulsion?

but hey, on the bright side...that Sekera trade keeps getting better

money well spent

I was expecting to be really upset after last night's loss, but I can't help but think this team is still in good shape going forward.

Maybe they will persevere, get some luck and make the playoffs. Even if they don't, we will finally get to see some changes and heck - maybe even get a top draft pick. Manchester looks like they are going to have the best record in the AHL and i'm excited to see what some of those guys can do on this team.

If we don't make it, at least we can't really talk about the guys being so tired from all the playoff hockey :)

If we are able to resign him and eventually trade Voynov, it won't be that bad. Lombardi and Co. always find ways to keep the team stockpiled full of talent.

I can't help but think if this Voynov situation didn't happen that we'd be okay right now, but that's all in the rear view now.

The Voynov thing seemed to put a black cloud over the entire season and we now find ourselves shaking our head at a loss to EDM that may have ended our season.Such a strange season coming off a Cup win.

For all the people that called me crazy when I said the Kings would miss the playoffs half way through the season I was right, you were wrong. You're all psychopaths.
