Toffoli has no business being the least threatening Kings player on the ice, yet here we are.
 
I think before camp, guys like Bjornfot, Anderson, Thomas, Fagemo, etc. wanted to come in, work hard, but ultimately thought they'd be in Ontario, back to juniors, or sent back overseas.

Then, they got on the ice and saw just how bad some of our veterans look nowadays.

Now, they're playing like they know they can earn spots.

We looked real good, real fast and really dangerous!
Iafallo-Kopitar-Brown is playing hard, heavy and determined and the kids look great.. all the kids!

Kings played a good up tempo attack(good mix of speed, cycle the puck and passing) and could have been up 2-0, but some lack of scoring finish is apparent just like last season.

Doughty's dangerously engaged.

Anderson's surprisingly solid.

Quick looks good.

Toffoli

So many beautiful people. Thanks a lot guys. Been really excited for the new season I was bummed to miss the first. Thanks <3

Was crazy seeing the uptempo play. Watched a dman throw the puck to his partner then take off and join the breakout. I'll take it. Even with the mistakes. That was fun.

Bjornfot could play in the NHL all year this year. He's that good. Anderson too. Already looks like a general out there. Kinda looks bigger than I thought he would too.

Everyone's really flying around, it's insane.

Looks like they're designing ways to get Drew the puck offensively, too. Of course, they're all slapshots, but eventually, someone's shinguards will break!

I'll give Akil Thomas some props too, every criticism I have of him was nonexistent in the first.

He has his spot. At least for 2 weeks from now. At least a month or two after that too, before Blake has to dump him for the next Hagelin.

They can't. The roster is basically set. There's no rush. Management has said they're not in any hurry. They're not sending any big names to Ontario, and if they're that bad, who would want them in a trade right now? What you hope for is that Ontario comes together as a solid young team, and the next wave starts solidifying there this season.

I think Toffoli's issue is he's so programmed to play a heavy fore-check, grinding, slower game and score goals from in tight. Either he has to adjust his game to McLellan's coaching style or he's gonna be traded before or at the deadline.
