My takes for the first period so far:
+ Bjornfot is so good
+ Quick looks like he's regaining form
+ Very good pace and overall team play
+ I've criticized Toffoli a lot, and just want to single him out and say he's much better

- The Kempe line is just all sorts of awful
- Lizotte is going to get seriously injured with the number of times he falls
- Wagner does so many good things, but he seems a bit out of sync.

-I agree, Bjornfot looks like an amazing steal at this point.
-Quick looks to at least be back into a solid form, but the question remains for how long can he keep it up without being injured? We have to pray his groin lasts until the trade deadline.
-Toffoli does look better than he was, but he seems to be a lot less effective. We need to utilize his shot and get that back on track.
-I love Lizotte's energy and shiftiness, but you can tell he is trying too hard to impress and trying to do things that he just can't do. He reminds me of Brown during his one on one deking phase.
-Wagner looks great until he shoots. He has one trick and he needs to put every waking second into improving his shot accuracy. He'd be an elite, lethal, threat if he could pick a corner.

I still don't think Kempe is best suited as the 4th forward on the PP.

If they want a trigger man, put Kovalchuk on the first unit. If they want a QB, Amadio's a good setup man.

Even though Quick hasn't really been tested, he's not chasing the puck at all. He's looking better, too.

This was Quick’s biggest problem last year IMO. If he can stop sliding all the way to the boards when he moves laterally, that will be a huge improvement.
