i dont see him being there long, just get his confidence back and be back in maybe 2-4 weeks if thatI do think Geekie really needs some AHL conditioning but at the same time I know Joel Bouchard is going to drain every ounce of creativity from his game and he will come back as a bottom 6 forechecker so I don't really like this.
Conor Sheary.I could see this for during the 4 nations break, but not now. Who exactly is better that they are replacing him with in the top 9? He's still the 7th or 8th best F on the team atm. With these next 4 games before the break being rather important, the timing seems very poor unless a trade is happening very soon.
My eyes!Conor Sheary.
Said no one ever.

Disagree. Geekie hasn't been doing great, sure, but he's still far more of an offensive threat than any of Atkinson. Ace, or anyone else that's taking his spot in the middle/bottom 6. If it's for cap space accrual to better accommodate an impending trade, fine; if not, it doesn't make alot of sense. He hasn't been producing at all lately, might as well lump the 7-12 forwards all in the same group right now. Playing Atkinson over him while he gets some solid minutes in the AHL isn't going to hurt us any less.

He's still a better offensive zone threat than any of the jokes replacing him. Again, if it's for cap space, it is what it is, but him getting an extra 2 or 3 Crunch games instead isn't helping them in the "long run".Mr. Offensive threat has 1 point in his last 11 games. This move isn't going to hurt us at all while benefiting the long run.
"He's a 20 year old kid that has exceeded expectations. He's done a great job. (The AHL's) a great league to learn and gain more confidence than he already has, so he just has to go down and work on a few things and he'll probably be back at some point. We'll see."
"This was talked about with Geeks in training camp. So, the fact that he was here 50 games is a tribute to him. It's all part of the process, it's all part of the plan. This wasn't stuff that was knee jerk or anything like that. So, everybody knew, and it's about Geeks playing 15 years in this league, not 50 games. That's the goal."
