Not just that but they were a pain in the A** to play against. Big, heavy, and just forecheck the bleep out of you. Two cup teams that no one wanted to play against. A different time now but glad we have the young kids that are able to transition to the new NHL.

I honestly don't recall Doughty ever talking that way about anyone.

Was really nice having at least one guy on every line running up on a Duck and watching them go "wait what" as if they were confused a King was in their grill haha. I remember Kupari getting on a few guys before they could even handle a pass.

Well, a year ago the Kings were coming off a season with the league's best D and top PK -- both with a healthy DF on the top pair. Not to mention DD had his best year ever 5 on 5 (scoring). Unfortunately, you can't man a D with just 2 players. Expecting DD and TB to play together for more than special situations shouldn't be expected.

After watching that game, I'm pumped for this year.
1. A real NHL coach that : communicates, knows the game. good with veterans, good with youth. stops practices and teaches. commands respect. but is not a total hardass...laughing with Kopi and Brown at end of the game. implements changes. expects all players to elevate and push themselves. So refreshing. Vets responding. Youth going out there with confidence and drive.
2. Some new players that can / may make an actual difference? Hutton looks pretty good, pickup for nothing. 1 yr contract. He has something to prove and will want a better contract, so expect a good year from him. Grundstrom, Amadio, and Kempe - I expect the 3 of them to contribute and be good, young players. I think there's a chance Kempe takes a step this season. if not, it's not like he sucks. I think he improves overall and his numbers as well. Lizotte should make it and do well. How well? I expect him to be a 'better Leipsic' that puts up some numbers and drives the opposition batshtt. Love his game! JAD has a shot too.
3. ONTARIO will have the best crop of first year players EVER!! Kupari. Michael Anderson. Durzi. and if JAD goes there, he will do well there too. Players like Luff and Strand may yet take the next step there and push themselves to a higher level. Sodergran will begin his pro career too. Even Eyssimont has taken a step.
4. The Kings have 2 of the best OHL players!! Akil Thomas. put on 20 lbs. playing at a higher level Team Captain. Arthur Kaliyev. Dude can score 70 goals, possibly. Unreal hockey sense and shot and will improve his game from what the Kings are teaching him. Even Dudas will have a great year. Don't count him out. And Ingham in goal. WHL - let's see what Parik can do. Was not so impressed with his rookie game...but Ranford will work with him.
5. College players: ALEX TURCOTTE! 7th rated prospect in world, in recent article. Should have a great year at Wisconisn and playing for Granato. Also have Cole Hults at Penn St. and David Hrenak may yet be the next best goalie prospect in system.
6. Europe. The Kings will have Fagemo at Frolunda and he's already signed. So Kings can have him here after his season there. Maybe he joins the Kings in April, or Ontario. He will get even better this year. A real sleeper. Oh, Nousianen is already scored a goal and 2 pts in 3 Liiga games!
7. I think that's enough to be excited about...but I'm sure there's more! Oh, how about Tobias Bjornfot????? No matter where he plays,....he's a Kings and signed!!
Oh, possible top 10 pick in a deep, 2020 draft too. Go Yannetti and staff. You guys kick azz!!! Find us another "WTF? At 22, Bjornfot? WHo the hell is that!!? I'm pissed!!!! Tomasino was there, he was MY pick!!! Hey, let Yannetti and Ruutu make the picks!

I swear dude have you seen doughty talk anyone up like this? It'd be a shame to strap doughty to a piece of crap player like Forbort to his hip.

I think its more important to give Doughty a great young player he actually loves as his partner rather than let Bjornfot sit because of his age. It'd honestly be a shame if the kids ready.
