It’s his defensive play that scares me, and in the past two years I’ve seen the poor kid get demolished by big checks in preseason games.

Yeah, I agree he did look shaky in past preseason games. I do think he looks better this year despite getting beat wide a couple of times.

Welp, that was the most disappointing loss of the season so far ... But at least we got to see a bit of light from our prospects and some spark with some key players.

Clague had a rough last half of the 3rd period and OT. That was Wagner's guy, but you can't let someone behind you like that.

Too early for those of us who liked the Bjornfot pick to say I told you so?

I think it was the right decision, but a calculated risk. At that point in the draft there had been a run on defensemen. It was highly unlikely Bjornfot would have lasted until the Kings 2nd round pick. On the other hand there will still several forwards on the board who had a high probability of going before Kaliyev. It was a percentage move which favored the Kings even though some folks didn't like it.

I suspect if Kaliyev had already been taken by the time the Kings picked in the 2nd round, many would have been equally satisfied with Bobby Brink. Happy the Kings got Kaliyev though, because IMO his size and shot make him a better prospect than Brink. In the end the Kings picked two players that provide attributes of which the Kings are currently in short supply.

Ahhhhh I'll pretend the 3rd period never happened. Gonna just think about the positives from the first two periods. Already use to this. But the kids did great it's freakin pre-season.
