4) Trading for two draft picks will not make the Jets better now or in the future. You don't trade a hall of fame goalie for the 9th overall pick and a second. The only way I seeing the Jets making a trade is if they get a goalie who can replace Hellebuyck and a 2nd line centre.
What team could supply that?

Only a matter of time

Lundell for Hellebuyck actually makes a boatload of sense to me on paper. I think Florida would value the #9 pick to hopefully get some young and cheap talent added to the team, while I think Winnipeg would prefer getting a young 2C back for Hellebuyck rather than another top-10 pick when they already have pick #8.

There is no chance Florida values the pick over Lundell. Their objective is to win now. That pick is at least 1 year out, more likely 2 from playing NHL games.

As a fan of a team in the Eastern Conference, I sure hope Florida trades Anton Lundell.

You'd presumably rather play a Lundell-less Panthers than the 2025 Panthers minus Lundell with even better goaltending

Unless Zito can work a miracle and manage to get Hellebuyck without giving Lundell up, people keep bringing up Schneider for the 9th overall in 2013 but Hellebuyck is so much better than Schneider ever was even if Helle is also older

our 3rd line centered under Lundell has been used to neutralize top lines at times so our top lines can get favorable matchups. With Lundell were able to roll three lines which is huge in every cup winner.

That would be a substantial loss to lose that, and then who do we replace him with? Schwindt? Stenlund? Whoever will be a massive drop off and well lose arguably one of our best advantages cause Lundell sets up Marchand like Campbell sets up our reffing.

Id much rather rock Tarasov and some other goalie and keep lundell and our 9oa vs trading both for Hellebuyck who hopefully isnt the worst goalie in the playoffs like he was the past few years

Yeah, no…it’s not 1 or the other….its both.
Jets add as needed, but we need to shore up our 2C hole and add some goodies to our cupboards…and this is our best chance to do that
