Sucked that D'amigo was the one that had to pay that large bill, he barely makes anything LOL.

Yeah he only makes roughly 10 and a half thousand per game while called up..... Yeah it does suck for him to have to pay that, but I hardly feel bad for him haha

A pet peeve of mine is how Kadri says the word "surreal" in what seems like EVERY interview. We get it you want to seem sophisticated by saying a fancy word that no one barely uses, but wow expand your vocabulary kid

Grinds my gears

Smh. Let's put you in front of TV cameras everyday and see what comes out your mouth.

Even better than the last episode. I'm kinda cheesed though, they over-glamorized the Toronto parts and gave it more of a 'Hollywood' feel whereas the Detroit bits really got into the coaching aspect of Hockey.

Basically I wanted to see more RC and how he comes up with his line combos and what not. Hopefully they'll do this in a future episode

Oh and the Phaneuf vs Crosby part was hilarious. Sid is such a *****.

can't believe crosby said he hasn't made a hit all year, as if that's some sort of defense.

I kinda wished dion chirped sid a little in that exchange. Crosby was flat out saying kadri is a joke and dion didn't say anything back.

Kinda hoped our captain would defend one of our youngsters.

And poor d'amigo had to pay the tab

But let's give Carlyle a lot of credit. He's said it countless times that he's pleaded, cajoled, begged, asked, demanded for this team to put in a modicum of effort into playing a 200 foot game, for 60 minutes - as what they are paid to do. and they don't. at that point I think screaming is in order.

Exactly!! Like some good posters here have pointed out, the players are just not committed to winning and are comfortable being rich celebrities.

Carlyle has bad faults and deserves criticism, but the problem is at a much greater scale like Stephen, dave, number72, and etc have mentioned.

Seriously, sounds like that guy has some deep rooted hate for Kadri, what an odd post. This show is amazing in so many ways. It's like watching a movie building up to the final scene. I enjoy every second they cover the Leafs.

Meh not really. I noticed it to, it just strikes me as being ingenuine. That in no way equals deep rooting hate, Mr. Hyperbole.

Gotta love Carlyle giving this team ****. Fully deserved.

Very capable of praising, as seen in the Chicago game, but I love that he really gave it to them when they are playing like total crap.

He's saying all the right things and really stressing commitment, passion and energy. It's completely on the players right now and they are failing miserably.

The overall narrative of the program seems to be one of the down-trodden, blue-collar Detroit vs a rich, fancy Toronto. They show graffiti and abandoned houses when transitioning to Wings' segments, and during the Leafs' segments they seem to really glamourize things like the clothes the guys are wearing, and guys' condos and cars and things. I don't disagree with it because it tells a compelling story of two cities that are polar opposites, but it doesn't really fit with the actual HOCKEY narrative IMO. It will help sell the game to America though...they love to root for the underdog.

I didn't particularly care for the first episode, but I loved this one. I loved the part of Carlyle telling Fraser and Ranger they aren't good enough. The coaches speeches on either side were pretty good, with bonus props for Babcock throwing the cameras out.

Carlyle said exactly what everyone was thinking during the Florida game, particularly that the team was embarrassing.

It is remarkable that the team hasn't really responded at all this year except a few games here and there. You'd think they would have some more pride in themselves.

As much as it sucks that the Leafs are slumping right now, it definitely makes the 24/7 episodes much more interesting (for me at least). You get to see a lot more of what makes the club tick.

You'd think the coaching staff would even slightly adjust their system considering other teams have figured it out.

That Miley Cyrus stuff is embarrassing. I think that's why we play so bad, some guys just don't wanna win and hav to hear that song. Ranger probably hates it the most every time leafs are closing on a win he'll pinch to cost us the game on purpose in order to avoid hearing Miley.

That's what you thought? Dion was defending Kadri.

He challenged Sid that he spun him around, would you like that? He also shouted who went after your head Sid? To me Dion had enough pull to say that to Sid. The only other players I can see speaking up that way on our team are Bolland and Lupul. We have a young team, and Dion stuck up for Naz from what I saw.

It is pretty pathetic. They might as well listen to Britney Spears, or Justin Beiber..

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure players are paid on a by day basis. Contracts are paid out over a 195 day period, rather than an 82 game period. SO rather than having to play games to get paid (which would essentially screw goalies over, or depth players that get scratched or called up/sent down often), they actually get paid by the number of days they spend up on the big teams roster, regardless of how much they pay.

So for instance, the one day that Spencer Abbott has been called up for by the Leafs, he was paid $3333 dollars.

Josh Leivo who has been up for 16 days, has made $65 032 dollars.

So yeah, while it certainly sucks for D'Amigo to pay for a $700 plus dinner bill, it's not really going to hurt him in a big way. It would be comparable to someone who makes 100 dollars a day paying for a 30 dollar meal. Expensive but not exactly the biggest expense in the world.
