From what I can see in ep.2 Leafs are close knit team. It is just unfathomable why this team isn't playing well.

Note: Clarkson gets suspended...we win majority of our games

second time Clarkson gets suspended we beat the hawks 7-3

Clarkson should NEVER see the top 6 on this team. Period!

Two episodes in and I'm already sick of Carlyle. I don't think the drill sergeant act is going to hold up much longer with this team, if it hasn't already run out already.

Damn I wish we had Babcock. Love how he can be tough, but preaches positivity.

Also, after second episode 2 I can say one thing for sure:

Babcock >>>>>>>>> Carlyle

when it comes to motivate players and pick up players when they are down.

Seems the Detroit players didn't think so. They were still playing like **** just like we were.

I saw Babcock still trying to motivate players...

ex: Keep your head up, thats bad body language

That is enough for me.

Fact: Detroit kicked our ass in our own building without their no.1 goalie.

Man, I loved seeing Crosby get so mad. Whatever you guys do, keep Nazem.

A top-2 center that can agitate opposing teams' stars = priceless (especially in the playoffs)

Crosby wound up scoring the game winning goal if I recall correctly. It didn't exactly work out in the Leafs favour. Chirping is great if you can back it up.

Its not Randy's job to motivate the players to play.

He says this repeatedly throughout the series.

I have no idea how anyone can suggest that multimillion dollar athletes who have spend their entire lives perfecting their crafts to attain the highest level in their sport - need a motivational speech to get ready to play a game they love.

This team flat out doesn't care. They don't have the work ethic. They don't have the commitment to win. They aren't interested in Run and Gun systems - or Dump and Chase or whatever the next one will be. They are interested in padding their own individual stats - making huge amounts of money - and having a good time.

Bodies need to be moved out. Hungry kids need to be brought in. Salaries and expectations need to be kept to a minimum.

Holy crap this is tremendous. :handclap::handclap:
Can I plagiarize this because this is 100% my view of the team.
I'm so frustrated with them and their apathy.

Exactly. After watching this series, I can't even blame Carlyle anymore. Scotty Bowman at his best couldn't get this team to play consistently.

Team is full of lazy players that work hard for about 5 minutes out of 60. Kessel is an embarrassment. The guy is completely lost in our zone, he will shy away from all contact, cough up the puck at the first hint of pressure, back off as soon as a D pinches because he's too soft.

We have too many player with Kessel's attitude. Players that scream "it's okay to lose."

I am convinced that this team is headed no where no matter who is coaching.

Bunch of **** players with terrible work ethic and effort.

If they gave even half the effort that teams like St. Louis, LA, Chicago, Boston do....we would be much better.

Just goes to show that all we have on our team are passengers who collect their paycheques. I highly doubt there is more than 5 players on this team that actually have a goal of winning the Cup in Toronto.

Wow, Randy told Fraser and Ranger flat out that their level of play is not good enough

yeah - that was just like - whoa.

Dave - that is so true. I mean in all seriousness - maybe this is why Nonis isn't going to do anything until the summer. everyone freaking sees it. i think a good chunk might be going.

You know I loved when Randy pulled those 2 guys aside and just flat out told them they weren't good enough. I wish he'd do it to some of the more established players on team/league however. 6th/7th Defenceman rarely have a HUGE impact on weather a team wins/looses.

I like Nonis - I thought he was the right guy for the job. Didn't expect him to panic. Didn't expect him to sell the farm for short term fixes. He's been true to his word on all of those things - But then he goes and signs Kessel/Bozak/Clarkson and soon to be Phaneuf for LONG TERM. The complete opposite message that needed to be sent to this team/roster. 3 of Those 4 represent the greatest chance this franchise has to turn things around via Trade. Then Clarkson was just an awful signing. Knowing that he'll be here longterm or that he'll be bought out again sends such a bad message to current players and any around the league that may want to sign here.
