OT - NO POLITICS Hazy Days of Winter.

The "good" news for commercial fliers is, at least at this point, it seems like the plane wasn't at fault and it wasn't related to malfunction. It's normal to be skittish about flying after something like this, but I wouldn't let this concern you more about regional flights.

I hope they all went on impact and didn't have to live through that.
My concern isn't the flight itself, it is how it has to land at LaGuardia that has me nervous.

When we send groups of employees to work a convention, we limit the number who are on any given flight. I realize that's not always feasible especially with teams, but I can't imagine losing a dozen or more coworkers all at the same time.

This is all just so heartbreaking. Last night I saw a picture of all the ambulances lined up waiting to transport, and none of them were needed.

10000% human error. Whether it was the Army aircrew, or the approach controller……or a combination of both, remains to be seen once they pull the tapes.

The only thing that American Airlines crew did remotely wrong was failing to see nearby traffic in the area. Really sad and totally preventable.

I've had the news on in the background while I work (what can I say, I'm a masochist). Sounds like ATC was communicating with both aircraft and asked the helicopter if they saw the plane and they said yes...but they were looking at a different plane.

Honestly, when I first saw the video, I was focusing on the plane in the upper right corner and didn't realize that wasn't the one that got hit until I saw the fireball.

Add "pilot" and "air traffic controller" to the list of jobs I would find way too stressful.

The NTSB is saying they expect a preliminary report in 30 days

I'm just hoping the families and loved ones have some answers before World's at the end of March because I'm sure it'll be all over the news again for that, especially with Boston being so affected.

I can't imagine having to go through all that coming up again and still not haven't any answers at all.

I hope so too! At this point all they can do now is be with the families and take it one day at a time. I do wonder if Max wil withdraw from $ Continents. It starts in less than 3 weeks in Seoul.

Seeing Nancy Kerrigan speak earlier just broke me especially when she said the Boston skating community stood by her in 1994 and now she needs to be there for them now.
