I don’t know how I feel about tonight. Glad we won? ADA is playing solid. That Lindgren kid made some pretty good plays. Kreider and Mika were strong. Zucc upping his value.

Like @ZuccsFluffierFluffer said, we have plenty of time to lose. Guess I’ll enjoy the good in tonight’s win.

Yes Chytil has been very good recently - I hope he can continue to surprise us positive! :)

My votes tonight is Chytil, Zib, and Kreider.

With Rykov playing much better and getting serious minutes in the KHL along with ADA and Lindgren the future of the defense doesn't look too bad. Again nothing elite but definitely some nice top 4 potential. We aren't even talking about Miller, Hajek and Lundkvist.

Enjoying Mika's strong year but a bettter Mika/CK/and now even Zucc means literally no chance for a top 4 pick
they won't have as much success i dont think against some tougher teams, but i'll welcome it for the next month if it means the return on zucc is rasied because of it. dont forget, should we sell off most of our assets rumoured to be in play, the team should plummet post deadline since some other sellers only have 1 rental they'd really miss.

bye bye hayes, zucc, names, mcquaid, claesson

would be wondeful for lines to be

kreider-zibenejad-buchnevich (give er one more go)
chytil-strome-fast (seems to be working, would like chytil to be at C, but that can wait till 19-20)
andersson-howden-vesey
____-nieves-_____ (could be players coming back in deals at deadline [ie: spooner-esque cap dump], or meskanen&gettinger)

skjei-pionk
staal-deangelo
lindgren-shattenkirk
smith
(really like this setup)

FWIW, Rykov has had his minutes cut back recently and was a healthy scratch the other day. He did have a nice play today for an assist.

You gotta be joking. 5v5? Besides, that goal would have counted whether Zucc was there or not. Also, ADA is one of the best in the league at getting his shot on net (11th among d-men with 400+ minutes this year, 1st among d-men with 800+ minutes the past two years), so a higher than average PDO doesn’t surprise me either way.
According to Corsica, his 5v5 PDO was 103.54. It is what it is. Tends to regress towards the mean. I'm not criticizing the kid--it's just if he plays to that PDO all season he'll pick up at least a couple "lucky" points, so you shouldn't sweat it.

How great has Marc Staal been?
personally think he's been much improved this season. wouldn't use the term great, but good/solid is a fair evaluation.

for some reason him and pionk didnt work. not to harp on it more than i do and beat a dead horse, but imo pionk was more of an anchor on staal than vice versa.

now, with deangelo, this is some of the best hockey ive seen him play in years. again, small sample size against bad teams, but an observation im happy to make since its a positive one.

staal has done so much for this organization, it's nice to see him have this mini resurgence, even if hes not worth his contract. great guy to root for.

DeAngelo is a +8 in the past 5 games. Like I said last game, if Howden didn’t make that dumb mistake, he would be a +9. And if Zucc wasn’t offsides by a hair, he would be a +10. Another game with him, another win.

I love Lindgren. He played well last game, and played even better today.

Staal made some very nice plays tonight. Maybe his trade value isn’t negative anymore. Seems like playing with ADA makes a d-man play better. Who knew?

Rangers had 3 unassisted goals. When was the last time a team did that?

True. Just overall this season since getting to Sochi has been playing decent minutes. Gotta let all these 4/5 young dmen marinate and develop and in 2-3 years see what we really have with them.
