  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Also going to point out Greenway is a horrendous skater while being absolute liability and worthless in all other aspects of game

Odd to see our GM bring him in given people here always dismissed actual talent like Michkov, etc speculated about in recent months claiming they dont fit what Davidson wants which is supposedly guys who could skate

Yet here we are bringing in an awful player with $4M cap hit who can neither play game of hockey or skate
cap floor commander

Very steep price. Not a fan of getting rid of Crevier, he showed promise, but nothing is certain. Now, if the Hawks had picked a D-man with their 4th odds are they would need a year or two of development so no immediate help. With Byram they get it now (and former #4 pick) and he was same age as Crevier.

The Hawks could keep getting those lottery tickets where one of them might be a future all-star or they could be getting proven players and continue to improve. Hawks did something, so everyone should be happy now.

Bucci said SJ offered 9+27+..Stenberg and Byram would've been solid for them

This is why it's so hard to trade for D. Good ones are worth their weight in gold.

When one becomes available there are 15 teams that are putting in offers. Half the league wanted Byram but we got him. We had to pay a high price but he's here.

Could San Jose have offered 2 plus 27 and won the bid? Probably. Grier loves his forwards and wants to go 5 for 5 with the franchises 1st pick in every draft being one.

You either draft them with a high pick or you pay a kings ransom for them.

i agree. I really don’t see this being a bad overpay at all if Byram resigns and stays healthy.

After calming down I don’t mind this trade now as a KD hater, sure I rather trade the 4th for Robo/Knies but it is what it is. I know people will be even more pissed off if Byram is a Shark.
would have to imagine 4 for Knies/Robo talk was probably had first and it involved 4+Lev/Frondell/Nazar etc which was a no
