  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
If you think this is a good move in a vacuum, okay, that's fine. Byram is entering what will hopefully be his prime. I'd rather make the trade for a top 5 draft pick AFTER knowing where Lardis, Frondell, Kantserov, etc, are at next year.

But if you analyze the Blackhawks asset management in terms of draft capitol, all the D they've drafted since and now they're going after a guy that was there a decade ago by paying the same price?

When you zoom out, it's a terrible look.
Predators with a slightly better offense, because of Bedard. The KD dream.

Sabres dump two players they don’t even want and get 4th OA+45.
even if it works out and byram is the player his contract will say he is, it's painfully obvious who was the beggar and who was the chooser here.

I loved Byram in his draft. Have no issue with this move if more is to come. All of you who have been crying left and right over some of us saying moves will be made, you can now jump off the bandwagon...but this was the cost to land a player that YOUR HERO GM obviously wanted. And despite the fact that KD sleeps in Knies pjs, he clearly feels that what Byram can do right now and the future will help the other young dmen and take pressure off them which Reid or Carels simply wouldnt be able to do for maybe 3-4 years.

Not my hero.

Their saving grace is how well they've drafted at the forward position.

And they apparently aren't trading any top forwards to get Byram. I get the move, but it's not a clever move in the least. They waited until a guy commanded top dollar, paid that and then some.

people get way too excited over 17/18 year olds that have proven nothing

Byram was great in the playoffs

he's a REAL player already

elite skating, 50+ point scoring upside, physical, all situations minute muncher, only 25

no lotto ticket here
Happens every year. All of the sudden every top 10 guy is an immediate superstar, then half of them bust.

Byram is great right now. Give me the known quantity.
