Have we lost every game when the other team played last night?

Based on play, Stoll definitely deserves t be the healthy scratch whenever Pearson is ready to join the lineup.

I hope he gets the Richards treatment, where it gets to the point that any veteran presence or whatever other intangible people want to come up with just doesn't make up for God awful play on the ice.

We have to be getting close to that with Stoll, he still provides solid defense which may prevent him from the same fate as Richards, but other than that he provides nothing positive, it's like he is using a field hockey stick out there.

King - Kopitar - Gaborik
Pearson - Carter - Toffoli
Brown - Lewis - Williams
Clifford - Shore - Nolan

Will never happen, but I think that is the Kings best lineup when TP returns.

I think that would be ideal at this point.

So Sutter is going to bench Stoll... Pretty sure Stoll could show up in tracksuit then get into a fight with Greene when Greene throws Stoll's tracksuit in the shower... and still not get benched by Sutter.

I could totally see something like that going down in today's NHL...

Sutter has scratched Greene before and he sent Richards to the glue factory, don't think that the same thing couldn't happen to Stoll. If his game were to fall to the level that Richards did they will go with 11-77-22-37 down the middle. Sutter plays the players who give him the best chance to win, period.

As bad as Stoll has been I would rather play him than Lewis at center. Lewis is great at wing where he can utilize his speed and get in on the forecheck but he never looked good as a center at the NHL level, at least not to me. Being weak at faceoffs doesn't help either.

IMO i would at least give the below a look. If it works out there's a ton of speed on the top 3 lines:

Gabby - Kopi - Brown
King - Carter - Toffoli
Pearson - Lewis - Williams
Clifford - Shore - Nolan

Aside from the forth line, I think it's the fastest possible lineup the kings could have spreading it out aside from the 4th line.

Regardless of the lines though, they really need Kopi to start stepping up. Not gonna go very far with him playing "average".

Forward lines at this morning’s practice, grouped together by color-coded jerseys:

White: Gaborik-Kopitar-King
Blue: Lewis-Carter-Toffoli
Yellow: Clifford-Shore-Brown
Green: Nolan-Stoll-Andreoff-Williams

Proper blender action going on today. Bugs me that Sutter would rather put Dwight King on his rarely tested off-wing than to play Gabby there even though he spent most and best part of his career in that position.

I like that third line alot more than the current one.

Stoll has three points since January 1. All goals. Mind-boggling.

Furthermore, Williams has 8 goals and 3 assists which isn't bad at all. Dustin Brown has 4 goals and 9 assists.

Pretty obvious what's going wrong on that line.
Yeah if they had an adequate center not named Richards our Stoll, they be doing a lot better. Maybe Shore?

Man I don't like these too much. Only change from the previous game I would try and tweak would be swapping stoll and shore. Oh well, stopped questioning Sutter long ago so he must see something we don't.

You actually believe that?

Greene was scratched last year after the Kings lost a ridiculous number of games with the Mitchell/Greene pairing. Yes Sutter made the change about a week to 2 after every fan could see the problem....

No Sutter isn't going to bench Stoll... Sutter has his favorites and those players don't get benched. It's how he rolls. If everyone was held to the same standard Williams would never see the ice. Thankfully the cap will solve that problem.

Sutter plays the players that give him the best chance to win, period.... lets look at that.... then why the **** does he keep putting Greene out there on 4v4? I love Greene, but 4v4 there is too much open ice for him. It keeps happening... Lewis got another shootout this year... Lewis in the shootout gives the Kings the best chance to win. :sarcasm:

11/77/22/37.... That would be fine to throw out in any given game.... Kings would still have a decent chance to win. If the Kings make the playoffs 11/77/22/37 ins't going to cut it. The Kings are going to need depth scoring and swapping out Stoll for Lewis isn't going to get it done.

Of course it's not that big of a deal. At this point the Kings are going to need some luck to get to the playoffs, so worrying about the 3C for when they do, seems a little premature. Stoll also turned it up for last years playoffs... lets see how much he has left for this years... (I'm not holding my breath waiting if you were curious)

Regarding Greene in overtime, who would you put out instead after doughty and Muzzin? RR is just as slow and mcnabb is well mcnabb. Like it or not with Martinez out they don't have 4 defensemen that have the speed for 4 on 4.

Kings have to make the playoffs first. Getting in the way of that is Stoll/Greene/Brown/Williams play(over the last 25 games).

Brown has been inconsistent but I thnk has shown sparks of life here and there. Stoll has been terrible, Williams has flat out disappeared, and greene has been outmatched

Williams is scoring goals at his career average of .25G/G. It his assists that have taken the hit. .35A/G average yet this year its .22A/G. That those playing with him not finishing. He has been turning the puck over more but have to wonder is that because he's thinking he has to hold on to the puck since those around hm can't finish?

If only it were Doughty and Muzzin...it Was Doughty and Regehr. I didn't double-check but I'm assuming it was Muzzin with Greene. No clue why you wouldn't try Sekera out in that situation at least, maybe even McNabb, over either Regehr or Greene, especially going up against the Pens, you know they weren't going to send out bangers in OT, you need your skaters for it.

Look at it like this...

You know the outcome of putting Greene in 4v4... you don't know the outcome of throwing Sekera/McNabb out there... Could be bad... may get a surprise.... worst case you end up in the same place as with Greene out there. What's the down side?
