Jones and Skinner scratched tonight with Giutarri and Tinordi playing. Assuming there is no injury it is hard to understand why Knoblauch made this move.

Not only did Robertson have his first pro goal, but I thought he had a decent all around game. Not perfect, but I think he's going to have a future in the NHL. To start off his NHL career, he would be a perfect 6/7 for Gallant. I wouldn't mind if we held onto him.

Once he adds a bit of weight and gets a little more comfortable, he’s gona be a beauty.
He make excellent subtle players that won’t show up on the scoresheet.
He’s the type of guy where at the end of the game you’ll say he didn’t make plays that made him a huge standout, but he does his job and he’s solid.
Give him a year to year and a half with the pack with increased ice time and he’ll be on his way.
I expect a big step fwd from him at the start on next season

I've related the story of my brief interactions with the bus driver for Ronning's Vancouver WHL team and the guy raved about Ronning as a person as much as a player. I root for Ronning to succeed.

Ronning is a creative offensive player and has proven he is a good/very good AHL player. But his size is a problem and he doesn't win many puck battles. His skating is fine but not outstanding. I thought maybe he could be a fourth line energy player but it's clear Gallant wants a big, banging fourth line. So I don't see a fit for him on the Rangers. And the Rangers seem to agree. They called up five other forwards during the covid outbreak. If he didn't get called up during this period it doesn't appear he ever will get called up.

Ronning is an RFA and I hope the Rangers qualify him. He is the type of player that makes other players better. Hartford was drowning last year when Knoublach finally inserted Ronning (and Adam Huska in goal) and the Pack completely turned it around. I could make the case that Ronning might have been the MVP and if not he certainly was in the top 3. I think he brings much more to the team than Greco who is a UFA. And maybe Ronning wants out seeing he is not going to get a chance.

So the long answer to your question is that in my opinion he might have a chance to play in a limited role with a big club but very unlikely it will be with the Rangers.
Sounds like Marchessault. Though JAM probably wins more puck battles. But I’m sure it took some time to get there.

Big time shot from Robertson.

Not sure what to make of the Jones recall. Is going to get playing time or are they content with him getting practice reps with the big club?

Supposedly Nemeth may not be available. Whether they would then play Jones or Hajek is anyone's guess, but that's apparently what this is.

Thought Nemeth was back, thanks. I’d eat my hat if Gallant goes with Jones-Schneider though. I think it’ll be Hajek, with Jones as the extra body.

Any updates on Lundkvist, please, from those who've been watching the games?

The AHL site shows him at
GP 12
Goals 1
Assists 3
Points 4
+/- 0
Shots: 21

Clearly he's not tearing it up, but I'm more interested in what the stats don't tell.

How about deployment? With Jones up with the big club, has Nils moved to the 1st pair?
How about Power Play time?
Have there been any noticeable changes or steps forward during his 12 games?

Very small sample size. I believe 4 of the last five games. He is very sound defensively and has not shied away from the physical side.
That’s all I have.

Jacksonville was won six in a row and quietly have the 2nd best winning percentage in the ECHL.
with less help from NYR/Pack than earlier, too -
Sanchez recalled today, Wall ~10 days back, so i believe just Elmer and Berzolla as NYR/HWP on roster
