Anisimov shot and Karl Henriksson scores powerplay goal 1-1

Rangers should sign Anisimov for rest of season

Wolfpack same issues give up a goal after scoring a goal. Unbelievable down 2-1

Brett Berard is quietly having himself a very good 1st year in the AHL. I said to start that if he could end around the same point total that Cuylle ended up with last year that it would be a huge success and he's tracking for that now with 19 points in 33 games. Cuylle ended the season on a hot streak and with 45 points and 25 goals in 69 games. Berard, if he continues at this pace, would end with ~40 points and 21 goals. If he can get there, or slightly better I'm expecting another home-grown bottom-6 forward next year. He has too much tenacity and is such a superb skater that the team would be dumb not to give him an opportunity.

two Pack notes

(1) tweets indicating Nash has fully returned to practice

(2) the Tim Doherty (a F) era ended without really starting
~8 weeks back, Pack acquired him for Future Considerations, and immediately assigned him to Cincy
Yesterday they (recalled and) released him
2024-01-17 Tim Doherty (LW) Hartford DEL Released from SPC

EDIT
3rd item,
DiGiacinto returned to Cincy today

Alex Thomas will be sad about DiGiacinto. I believe he’s his favorite Wolf Pack player.

Wow! Rempe destroys another AHLer, Demitri Osopov.
1-1 with 16:00 left in the 2nd.
Osipov went to the locker room.
Earlier Nash was down injured. Nash was down on hands and knees just like the first injury he just returned from.

After two periods Hershey up 2-1.
Both Hershey goals scored on the PP.
One in the 1st and the other in this period.
Wolf Pack shooting them selves in the foot.
Anisimov tripping penalty lead to a goal.
Brouillard with a cross-checking penalty near the boards which also lead to a goal.
Just before the end of the 2nd Hartford gets a PP and a few seconds into it Othmann takes an interference penalty.

4-2 final.
Empty net and a deflection off Leschyshyn past Domingue while shadowing his man in front of the net.
Brouillard scored with less than a second to go while on the PP.
Othmann off night (growing pains.) High stocked his own man to start a PP in the 3rd.
Scanlin solid in both zones
Berard played well as Rempe.
Yoon did not look out of place.
Anisimov looks better suited at his natural Center position rather then LW.
Save my thoughts on Nash for another day.
He did not return.
Lost to the number one team in the league.

Counting his fight with Ross Johnston in preseason that's Rempe's 8th fight this year and with the exception of Rhett Gardner they've all been legit tough guys. Pretty much all of them older and at or past their peaks---strong guys who've been through a lot of wars. It's great training for someone with Rempe's portfolio. He should fight tougher guys. Someone as young as Rempe is not going to win every time. When talking of legit guys a lot of those fights are going to end up as stalemates. Sometimes he hasn't won but he's always kept them at least somewhat close and he has come out better more often than not.

But it's best if that's not the only thing he can do. It's best if that's not the only thing he can do. His skating and balance are much better since when we drafted him. He does put up points now and again. There are things to work on and skating is a work in progress for him. His play away from the puck.....but so far he's done pretty well in his first couple pro seasons.
