Different line up with Nash out.

Leschyshyn, Sykora, Blidh
Henriksson, Berard, Othmann
Anisomov, Trivigno, Belzile
Korczak, Rempe, Pekar

Hollowell, Scanlin
Mackey, Brouillard
Hillman, Yoon

Garand in net

@Bridgeport

Pekar got hurt in the first 10 minutes and has not taken a shift since.
Byron Yoon listed at 5’11” seems a little generous.

0-0 after 1.

1-0 Hartford after 2.
Henriksson from Sykora and Belzile.
Karl Henriksson scored right at the top of the crease.
Pekar did not return. Guessing lower-body. He fell awkwardly at the side of the Bridgeport net.
PP goal from Brouillard to start the 3rd. 2-0 Pack.

I’m not into rushing them but it’s annoying that Berard and Sykora aren’t quite ready yet. Not complaining about their development (they’re both having nice years) but more so because dog on a bone type forwards like them would be of great use to the parent team.

I guess I should be happy that we have some good, cheap middle 6 help on the way though.

I mean Sykora is 19 and Berard is in his first year after NCAA.

The part that hurts was Gorton trading away those middle picks or completely whiffing on them when he had them for so long

Very rarely are guys in their first year out of college/Europe an NHL regular. Berard is on a similar trajectory as Cuylle. If Berard keeps up this pace he'll have similar points as Cuylle did his first year in Hartford. The only thing he might have against him is some coaches might thing he needs more time because of his size. I would not be surprised if he gets sent back next year and then called up, but at the same time I'm rooting for him to make the team next year but has tough competition with Othmann. I think Sykora is still getting acclimated to NA ice, but doing so really well. In 2 years nyr can possibly have an electric bottom 6 as long as Drury doesn't keep Goodrow or trying to keep plugging in the bottom 6 with Bonino types instead of giving the kids a shot.

2-0 Wilkes/Barre Scranton after 1.
Robertson playing NYR defense by backing in to the d zone keeping distance from Poolparty who just snap a perfect shot past Domingue. All Robertson had to do is take him to the boards but that would have taken effort. Can’t figure Robertson out.
2nd goal Hartford was in good position protecting the house and the Penguin player just got under Hollowell’s check and got a screened shot past Louie. Nothing could be done to prevent that.
Wolf Pack should be able to come back from this.
Hartford will start the 2nd on a PP.

4-0 Penguins after 2. 3rd goal after a Wolf Pack icing. WBS Center wins the draw back and Penguins go D to D for a bullet from the blue line. Rempe tried to get to the shooter but play happened to fast.
4th goal was a giveaway in the O-Zone. Hillman got back to break up the two on one but the puck got an unlucky bounce to the WBS player who chipped it over Domingue.

Leschyschyn was recalled to the Rangers.

Hartford PP letting them down tonight. 0 for 7 so far, with a lengthy 5-3 where they didn't generate much. About to start their 8th PP. It's 2-2 with time running out.

Edit: Berard scores! 3-2 Hartford.

May be time to clear out the bull shit and give Berard/Othmann and maybe even eventually Sykora a look.

the trusty veterans are not getting it done.

These guys are playing massive minutes. Let them develop. There's no need to rush them, it's not going to change the trajectory the big club is on. Othmann came up and didn't do much outside of playing Chicago (arguably an AHL level team). He has been up and down with the Pack. Sykora certainly needs more time. This is Berard's first full season.

We're seeing the dividends that proper devleopment pays with Cuylle's seamless integration. Don't deviate from that.
