Other than with Trivigno, I can deal with some of the other scratches. It is really important for Hartford to get back into the playoffs, since it's obviously become "a thing" and something that's important to the organization to end. I like Scanlin and think he has a chance to be an NHL player but this won't ruin him. If they think playing Adam Clendening is the right move then I understand that.

Now whether or not I actually trust the coaches to pick the right veteran players or utilize them in the right way, is a different story.

If Hartford fails to make the playoffs, what are the odds we get a coaching change? Would rather see someone new get a chance starting next season because kk isn’t really doing any development & the veterans aren’t getting done down there.

If they miss, i believe KK is gone.
If you can't finish even 6th, ever, in 4 seasons, what is reasoning to retain ...
Even if they get in, and flame out quick

Edit: I exaggerated the lack of success,
but there ain't been much to crow about during his tenure
and i was a big fan of his hiring (and Steve Smith's when Murph joined Gallant's staff)

I would think it's pretty high. Hartford made a lot of moves with the specific goal of making the playoffs. And honestly, it's been right there for the taking. They've been in prime position to make a move but keep doing the one step forward, two steps back thing.

Exactly, do we trust the management to pick the right veteran players or the coaches to utilize them in the right way?

Welinski was brought in as the veteran defenseman and he was terrible. I think may have contributed to Robertson's problems earlier in the year when they played together. He was even scratched for several games before the end of his Hartford tenure. C.J. Smith, 6 points in 21 games before he was injured. Turner Elson scoring at .5 PPG. Not the level of scoring you would hope for with veterans.

While Brodzinski and even Carpenter when he was sent down have been good additions, Brodzinski has almost as many goals as assists and Carpenter has more goals than assists suggesting they are not generating lots of offense. Tanner Fritz leads the team in assists with 27. I haven't checked but I would bet that is the lowest assist leader of any team in the AHL.

And we've gone about how the coaching staff continues to overplay the veterans who are not producing at a level they need.

Moreover, as Cwede said, even if the Pack make the playin game (they wouldn't make the playoffs under past playoff qualification rules) it will be by the skin of its teeth.

When you add the lack of team success with the lack of most prospect development, it's hard to make a compelling case to rerun the same movie.

Will Cuylle man keep it up!!!

Rest Kane and bring up Pajuneimi.
Edit: …or Cuylle.
Seriously why can't Pajuniemi get a cup of coffee to rest a Kane or even another winger on the team?
I know it's a long shot but would be nice to see the kid get a game or two or three.
I would like to see Cuylle to but he' doing so well right now in Hartford and hopefully that development continues.

Some notes on a crazy game.

Robertson now out week to week, Scanlin in for him.

Blidh out day to day. Berard in for him. Didn't watch game but goose eggs across the board for Berard playing on a line with Henriksson and Rempe. There were 14 power plays in the game so Berard may not have gotten on the ice very much. Other lines were Gettinger-Carpenter-Lockwood, Cuylle-Leschyshen-Brodzinski and Elson-Fritz-Pajuniemi. Digiacinto and Trivigno were healthy scratches.

As noted above, Pack up 2-0 after 1, down 3-2 after 2, give up 2 goals in the first minute of period 3 to go down 5-2, and then score 4 power play goals with the last 3 in the last five minutes of the game. Pack go 4 for 9 pn PP while Springfield goes 3-5.

Bridgeport won earlier in the week and win tonight leaving the Pack 3 points behind but with the pack having a game in hand. Lehigh Valley is also 3 points ahead of the Pack with an equal number of games and Springfield is 6 points up with and equal number of games.

Pack play Springfield again tomorrow and finish the week Sunday against last place Wilkes-Barre. Lehigh Valley plays Wilkes-Barre tomorrow night with Bridgeport idle. Lehigh Valley plays second place Hershey on Sunday. Bridgeport is idle this weekend. Pack play Bridgeport next Wednesday.

Will Cuylle man keep it up!!!

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think the Rangers can bring anyone up except as an emergency replacement for an injured player.

Wyatt Kalynuk got the fighting/instigator/misconduct penalty in the 3rd.
Leschyshyn has 9pts in 10GP.
J-Brodz is now a PPG+ player for the season.

Then they need to LTIR Lindgren like right now. Wouldn't that free up some space to have a few call ups?

I think because they feel they might be able to catch NJ.

Cant imagine Patrick Kane sitting unless he asks to sit or gets injured going forward. I don't think the call up would be Paj either.

Would love to see it though for the last game or 2 of the season if standings are set.
