Utica scores 5 goals in the 1st period. Tom McCollum comes in to replace Adam Huska for the second period. Hartford scores 3 in 2nd and outshoots Utica 16-0. McCollum hasn't faced a shot yet. WTF!

Kravtsov Oregan Fogarty is the top line (VK moves to the left with Fogarty back)

Rykov and Ebert are a pairing as well so that doesn’t change.

Pack not ready to play tonight. They really struggle on the road

dipietro in net for Utica good young goalie for sure.

2-0 early for Utica. Pack with a nice rush rebound comes into the slot and Rykov was looking to put in the rebound went by him Ebert blows a tire and a breakaway goal. Yuck

Kravtsov on PP1 but on this last look they put him finally on the right wall now that Fogarty is back he’s in front. Should be on the right wall or even the bumper where he played well in the WJCs. He’d been in front previously and that’s not a fit for him. This pp stinks though. It runs thru Lettieri So that’s all you need to know. Of course he shoots well but it’s obvious he’s shooting having said that dipietro with a couple really good saves there.
 
Bad turnover by rykov in his own end that leads to a snow angels on 2 on 1 pass gets thru anyway and goldobin roofs it. No chance for Huska. 3-0 10 mins in. Bruuuuuutal
 
Lettieri is playing with Gropp and Jones. Gropp has earned more mins. I’ve missed the last couple games but I don’t believe he’s done anything in that time to hurt himself. He was very good in the last few games I’ve watched.

Now Fogarty takes a bad slashing penalty in the O Zone
 
Justin Bailey hat trick in the first period another pp tip Pack blew two chances to get it deep. 4-0. I can’t give Huska much grief for any of these goals. Two powerplay tip ins, a breakaway goal off a great deke, and a 2 on 1 down low Off a turnover where the guy put it under the bar.
 
Kravtsov finally not short handed comes down the left wing wirh speed cuts to the middle backing in the D And fires just wide. Nice attempt
 
Geertson is in the Brendan Smith role here wirh hajek back. He’s skating as a wing but on the pk he’s playing D.

Pack powerplay Lettieri takes a wrist shot from the furthest spot in the zone no screen set up yet easy save. This is what goes on all night on the pp. keane to Lettieri. Kravtsov hasn’t even gotten the puck to make a play yet.

now short handed Keane gets posterized didn’t even look like he was trying guy walks right around him In the slot down the middle of the rink and tucks it under the bar. Again no chance for Huska who is playing the shot that tight in and Keane let’s the guy walk him and open up space. Horrible effort by Keane short handed. Just awful. 5-0
 
Right off the opening face off of the 2nd period Kravtsov down the left wing rifles a shot similar to Chytil’s goal against binnington the other night although he waited for some traffic to go to the net may have been a bit of a screen but he needed that. Same shift comes down the middle and fires another shot right away dipietro makes the save. Good to see. I think he was just having a bit of a slump more than anything serious he didn’t seem to be lacking in effort these past few games from all accounts.

Man Gropp flies I mean flies thru the neutral zone backs the d way in rips a shot and dipietro makes a really good glove save.

so many tools in this kids tool box I say it most nights but he kills me. I can absolutely see why a scout would push to draft him so high. You think he’s going to put it together eventually but alas

Kravtsov agai down there left side fires a pass across the rink to Fogarty for a great look he misses wide. Fogarty obviously looks off coming back from barely playing in NY.
 
Lettieri give and go wirh Nieves on the rush and Nieves spins and gives it back to lettieri for a tap in goal. 5-2. 16th of the year for your cousin vinny

then off the next face off down the rink Nieves gets a big chance in the slot nice save but rebound kicks out to raddysh who fires into the empty net. 5-3 now. Timeout Utica wirh 13 mins to go in the 2nd this is a new game.
 
Kravtsov to me just needs to physically mature a bit. He grew for sure to 6’3 he’s got quite the frame on him. Needs to fill out a bit this summer and get a bit quicker. Not his actual stride but his stops and starts. He can work on that a bit will help him. You can just see though the IQ and skill level is top notch. He’s also a very smooth skater like I said just want to see him get quicker is the small areas of the ice.

Holy cow Kravtsov walks a guy down low sets up Fogarty right out in front and all like in one motion. High end play. Save by dipietro looks like Fogarty flubbed it wasn’t expecting it. Unreal move between the legs in a sweeping fashion to set it up
