Rykov is defensively sound and skates really well. I have doubts about how he'll move the puck as an NHL pro. Still a great prospect.

Yeah, I don't disagree with you. But he was abysmal in this one game.

Can we officially label Shesh as the best goalie outside the NHL? Hes dominated the KHL and now is the best goalie in the NHL. Hartford is not in 1st place with out him.

Many times when a goalie makes a huge save it's a good amount of the time its due to something they did wrong (bad rebound/poor positioning). A lot of these saves hes making is bailing out poor coverage around the crease. Its amazing to watch.

I think the more likely case is that Samsonov just wasn't as good to begin with.

Better goalies will adapt a lot sooner than others.

I watched the pack game on News Years Eve and Rykov was possibly the best skater on the ice(minus Shesty)

I’m going to chock this game up as an outlier.

Considering that our prospect has performed across two top leagues pulls Shesterkin ahead between these two in my mind.

And by the way Kravtsov is totally bought in on it. I’ve been incredibly impressed wirh his two way game. When he’s not scoring he’s doing everything he’s supposed to do on the defensive side of the puck. Very responsible. This is one of those games. They just are playing it very systematically. No one taking any big chances here. Every puck deep either carried deep (mostly) or softly dumped into corners

If Kravtsov and the Rangers completely turn around the situation from negative to positive by the end of the year, well...bravo! That means both sides probably learned something. Would love that.

Rykov beautiful play at the line to get around his guy and set Raddysh up for a near empty net that he missed. He also drew a penalty on the guy he beat at the line.

Huska's first save from inside the blueline is a down-low 1-on-0. Lazy play between LoVerde and a forward caused it.

DiG is down after a huge hit on him. Trainer on the ice to attend to him. Hopefully it's nothing serious. They're already down Fogarty with him in the NHL. Been one of their best forwards this season.

He was bleeding and they had to bring out the scraper to take the blood off the ice.

The Rangers have the resources to reward some of these guys. Guys like DiGiueseppe and Fogarty should be re-signed for the max allowable contracts time be buried. 1-way deals. Reward your vets who also create the right environment and help you win games. Toronto does it all the time.
