I was checking up on Detroit’s young kids in the AHL. Velano is 1+0 in 8 games. Zadina has like 3 pts in 8 games. Seider a couple of pts. Rasmussen hardly setting the league on fire. It’s a hard league to do well in for a young kid.

Personally I'm more excited Lindgren is up, but only because I've been singing his praises since we acquired him.

Will he play? I’ve not seen the Bruins game, anyone questionable?

Detroit is also another team with a lot of turnover and young players struggling to pull it all together

I'd bet that Hajek is benched, whether he deserves it or not, and Lindgren will play in his place

And that’s good because Shesterkin is going to be in the NHL sooner rather than later.

If Lundqvist is DTD, it wouldn't surprise me if he comes up for a game or two, but if he can carry a rough Hartford team, it can only be a good thing and would put a lot of the naysayers to rest. Very much looking forward to his NYR career.

I believe it was reported that Hank was fine, despite it being reported as him being DTD. Vince said it was basically just a maintenance day:

What is Mikas injury?
It's been labeled as an upper-body injury, and Quinn has stated that it is not a concussion nor a head injury. He got reverse-hit pretty aggressively by Bergeon Sunday. It looked pretty rough at the time and seemed to be poor anticipation by Mika with how Bergeron was going after a puck along the boards. Here's the clip of the hit:

Maybe a bruised sternum. Which is very painful.

Beating on a dead horse here, but I'm still trying to figure out how NYR are going to avoid having Shesty be stuck in the AHL until he's almost 26 years old.

Seems like a waste of good cost controlled seasons (And maybe shots at NYR goalie records) if he continues to perform like this.

I think that they’re going to have to decide between him and Georgiev because I don’t think they can or will keep them both long term anyway

Pack down 1-0 to Laval after the first period. Shesterkin in net. Laval outshooting Hartford 11-7. Not a particularly auspicious start for the Pack. The only audio is the French Laval radio feed but judging by the shot chart the Pack not able to get in on the Rocket's goalie Charlie (Ryan's brother) Lindgren at all. Two of the 7 shots even from center ice. Ronning playing his first game tonight. No Taylor or Zerter-Gossage.

1-1 after 2. Laval carried the first. HWP better in the second. As to be expected, Wolf Pack Offense somewhat less dangerous without Chytil. But they did generate chances. The D structure is solid. Positioning, stickwork, all good.

Shesty seems like he's not overly challenged at this point -- even with 20 shots after 2. But that could just be me reading too much into it. He just seems ready to move to a faster level of comp. Simply put: if he sees it, he stops it. Needs to be screened or tipped. Hard to beat him one on one, even on a rebound one on one. In that way he's reminiscent of a younger Lundqvist. I just don't know if they can go the whole year with what certainly looks like 3 NHL goalies and assuming no one gets injured and misses significant time.

Laval has some recognizable names: Weise, Poehling, Varone, McCarron, Alzner.

Gettinger goal was really Fogarty's work. Made a nice play to angle off the defender on the forecheck and slip it in front to uncovered Gettinger. Though Gettinger has looked decent otherwise. No one's truly standing out good or bad. Hoping Ronning starts to look more comfortable at this level.

Finally, Laval feed MUCH better camera work than HWP feed.

3-1 Laval now. I take everything I said about Shesterkin back. Just kidding. Two pretty annoying turnovers lead to goals. First one was a partial breakaway that got somehow deflected or knocked off Alain or wolf pack D's body. Other turnover led to a 2-1 and Laval shooter beat Shesty glove side. It was a good shot, but I think MAYBE he could have had it with slightly better positioning.

Well, we all had to know Shesterkin wasn't going to stop 95% of his shots faced. Not in the AHL.

The problem is going to be offense. Team was sort of offensively challenged before Chytil left. Ronning is an uninspiring roster replacement.
