Lindgren as a defensive guy might make him a perfect complaint to partner with a guy like deangelo or pionk
Completely agree. Lindgren is not getting the love because he is not flashy and not a guy that will put upo points. However, he can be a steady influence on a pairing for a long time.

Pack win their second straight in Rochester. This time 5-1. Mazanec in net stops 40 out of 41. Holland, Holland, Lettieri, Schneider, Schneider with the goals. Holland, Schneider and Lettieri also had assists and Fogarty had two. Lindgren and Beleskey both in fights at the 19 minute mark of the third period. Both those guys had assists too as well as Meskanen, Crawley and Bigras.

Ty Ronning had an assist. He had that one game where in the third period he had 3-2-5. In his other 10 games he has 1-2-3.

While his (Ty Ronning) shot generation has slowed down aswell after his start he's still generating shots at a very high rate. His SOG/GP is 4.2 which is really good. Goal scoring is streaky.

Gropp seems to be doing pretty well for Maine too which is good to see, and Day keeps producing at a high pace. Not super impressed by Gropps shot generation though at just over 3 SOG/GP.

They all need to stay highly productive down there to have any chance. If you can't consistently score in the ECHL then you really don't have much of a professional future ahead of you. Even for rookies. Not very many players spend any significant amount of time in the ECHL and go on to become NHL players, other than tough guy-types and goalies. Very, very few scoring forwards have spent more than a fraction of a season there.

It's concerning to me, actually, that Ronning is getting a bunch of shots but not scoring (outside that one ten minute flurry). My worry with him was whether he could get himself in position to score goals. So either he's unlucky right now or he's just throwing a bunch of crap at the net and it's not really high danger. I have no way of knowing though. Still, 3 points in 10 games is not good.

Gropp, IDK. His problem was the thing that I'm worried about with Ronning. At the AHL level he couldn't find space. He was a shooter but he couldn't find the spots. It moved too fast.

Day, I guess his performance is encouraging. Hopefully he can get a look in Hartford soon and we can see his progress.

Gropp is a huge disappointment. He sucks. At this point he should consider retiring and finding another career.

What a f***ing asinine comment. You know there are like hundreds of guys that currently play minor league hockey for a decade or more at low levels? That play at low levels just because they love it? I'm not even talking AHL. I'm talking the former CHL, the SPHL, LNAH, etc.

Gropp looks like a bust for sure, but he could still become a career AHLer or give Europe a try. Worse players than Gropp have made great careers all over Europe. But no, you think he sucks so he should quit. I mean, this is a f***ing shortsighted, witless post, even by your incredibly low standards.

Been starving for that tough, nasty hard to play against defenseman (i know the league has changed and dmen are super mobile now) and hopefully Lindgren can be that guy. Like said already paired with a Pionk or ADA type. Kinda like we saw Brendan Smith play like in the 2017 playoffs and Jeff Beukaboom before that. Guys who are really physical and are decent skaters.

Any updates on Gettinger? I was toying with the idea of going to a game in the near future. Want to see as many prospects as possible.

His injury is almost certainly a concussion and there are really no timelines for concussions. A player has to pass certain cognitive tests and until he's able to he doesn't play.

Probably is a concussion but who knows. We've seen Zucc's scary injury and Chytil with the cervical strain in the past couple years, and we thought those were concussions.

Yeah that's what I figured. I thought maybe someone saw a Tweet from someone to give an update. Pack is very hard to get any news from.

I said it in another thread and I know it’s not a popular opinion. But if there were room on the third pair RD I’d be just fine with another year or two of McQuaid. I appreciate that there’s no room at the moment, and it makes more sense to play 77, 44, and 22 over him. But were Gorton able to consolidate the D and clear a spot, McQuaid is a nice guy to have on a developing, young team.

If they want Day to play, I wonder who sits? I would guess Crawley, primarily. They'll rotate but I would assume he and maybe Gilmour since they have 8 D on the roster. Pedrie already sits.

Gropp, you'd think they maybe send Melanson back down or Leedahl back down, or at least sit them.
